I need new snow boots. I have gone cheap in the past and never am happy with them. I have a bit of a walk from my parking lot to office so I like something warm and dry and not too ugly. I'd prefer a higher boot to add to warmness factor. I know sorrel Joan of arctic and some of their other styles get good reviews but seems like they are pretty well out of stock already.

Oh and I really don't want super expensive! $150 would be my max (even then I'd be hoping for sale/coupons!)

  • I've had a pair from llbean for about 5 years and they are still going strong.  They don't seem to have anything similar on their website now though.

I am going to second LL Bean. I have two pairs of Bean boots, slightly over your budget but they are guaranteed for life and are pretty indestructible. They sometimes have 10% off, right now there is 2% back on ebates and $10 gift card.

I have the 10" shearling lined ones best money ever spent. They are 3 years old an look perfect, they keep your feet dry and warm. I actually wear them year round to take the dogs since I leave them at the door. This year I got another pair, the 8" Thinsulate in Raven  they are bit more year round and I wear them in the rain and they are plenty warm when combined with my Smartwool boot socks.

  • I've always had luck with the Totes boots but I don't wear them every day but I do wear them tubing, outdoor things, in slush, etc.  I think Kohls has them:  http://www.kohls.com/search.jsp?search=totes+boots&submit-search=web-regular

  • I have a pair of pull on boots from Lands End, they are more like a moon boot looking boot. And they don't offer great support. But I got them on sale, and for how I use them they are really perfect. But it doesn't seem they have anything similar right now.
  • Khombu  Warmest boots ever!
