T&P Please
As some of you might remember, our dog Elphie was really sick earlier this spring. Well, she's at it again. This time she's suffering from the worst case of mites that her vet has ever seen. She was diagnosed with mange a few months ago, we dipped her every Saturday for weeks, and she was doing better, but then her paws started to get infected. She did a course of antibiotics and they got better.A week later, they started to flare up again. This time, the antibiotics didn't work.
They took a biopsy on Friday, but then saw the mites on the skin scrape so we decided to hang onto the biopsy and treat the mites. Well I don't expect miracles by any means, but she's miserable. Her paws are bleeding, sometimes profusely, and she can barely walk on them. My SIL is going to call their vet in the morning and see if she can get us in tomorrow. I'm really hoping so, my heart is breaking for my little bit, and I just want her better.
On top of that, H is really worried (understandably) about he finances of it all. I can't blame him, but I hate how he shuts down and I feel cut off from him. We don't know what it's going to cost and there's a good chance she has a weakened immune system and therefore we'll be dealing with illnesses and issues for the rest of her life. Right now I just don't know what to do.

Have you looked into natural/home remedies? Sometimes the combination of natural and RX can really get you ahead of these things. Good luck!
