Anyone making gifts?

The chocolate post got me thinking about homemade gifts.  Anyone doing this?  I'd love to hear about what you are making.

Re: Anyone making gifts?

  • DH is making cranberry wine for us to give out as gifts.  We won't have time this year but in the future I would like to make caramel corn now that I have my aunt's recipe.
  • In the semi-homemade category I had DS paint dishes for my mom and MIL with his hand prints all over them.  They came out really cute!  Dots and Doodles in Wexford was VERY helpful, and very reasonably priced.  2 large mugs, 1 flat sq. plate, and one large "pasta" bowl (flat...not deep like a salad or mixing bowl" cost $52 total, including the painting, glazing, and firing!
  • I've been doing lots of stuff. Our school does a handmade holiday market, so I've made some stuff for it, and then some extra to gift.

I did a bunch of disney themed tutus for the little girls.

I've also made homemade sugar scrubs and done some homemade layered soaps.

It was my first time doing scrubs and soaps, and I've been really happy with them.

  • I always make a bunch of homemade gifts.

For DDs' daycare teachers:  monogrammed infinity scarves and a Winter Wonderland "snowball" frame

Rhinestone edged lockets (think Origami Owl) with Frozen, snowflake, blue crystal charms

  • For a few neighbors:  monogrammed etched pint glasses

For DDs classmates:  ornaments personalized with each kid's handwriting

  • For my brother I etched "cheers" in different languages on pilsners

For neighbors and friends: Caramels, cookies, and extracts

For DD friends: Dorothy dresses (and we bought sparkly red shoes to go with)

  • Dena--that Dots and Doodles is a great idea!!  I have the grandparents covered for Christmas, but I'll be keeping it in mind for bdays, they would love something like that.  Thanks for sharing!

  • I totally told my sister I was giving her one of the babies. Does that count?
