I'm adding another QOTD for today bc I am bored and work is the actual worst.

Who makes the turkey in your family?  My dad always makes ours.

My BIL makes it in MI. Here, it depends on who is hosting. Whoever is hosting makes the turkey. That is why some years it is decent, some it is awful. H's family are notoriously bad cooks.  

Put this year in the awful category (we had Thanksgiving with his family on Sunday). I don't eat turkey, but H said it was the worst turkey he has ever eaten. 

I need to remember never to go to Thanksgiving with his family hungry, because I always leave hungry...

Sorry this turned into a rant from me...

Hey at least you don't have @goatlady12's problem with MIL licking all things within arms reach.  Poor thing!!!!  :-S

@WillyH19 I know a thing or 2 about in-laws who can't cook. The worst thing is, they don't know they're bad cooks! They think food without flavor is completely normal. SMH.

ditto @brainybrunette.  Christmas dinner at DH's is a sad plate of weird lasagna made with cottage cheese.  She doesn't like "weird food" aka anything that's not mcdonalds or fucking ice cream.  Ahh I have to stop or I'm going to get stressed just thinking about it.

Oh, I know, H's mom thinks she is a great cook! It's the worst.

This is a woman who told me, on my wedding day, as I was eating my meal with DH, that she couldn't find anything to eat because "everything has goat cheese in it! BLECH!"

It may not have any flavor, but at least no one's licking their fingers when they serve the food : P

Usually my mom does, but I'm taking over this year. I'm trying a turkey breast in the crockpot...

Whoever hosts makes the turkey.  Which is usually my aunt. 
When we do Thanksgiving with DH's family, there are so many people that there are multiple turkeys.  I usually go for the spit free turkey.

My mom and dad, its a team effort!

This year we are doing H's family on thurs and mine on friday. Im just hoping there is something edible there that was pre-ordered from a restaurant.

Both the moms. My mom does a turkey for their house and H's does one for theirs.

My father-in-law is the turkey guy and general cook for H's family. On my side, it's my mom, my godmother, or a joint effort between the two.

My mom always did it in my house, and DH's mom did theirs.  His family all gets together for the holiday and whomever is hosting does the turkey.  But Ds parent's also do their own separate holiday meal.

We did a Friendsgiving meal last month and I cooked my very first turkey:D  It was awesome.

When we have it at my aunt and uncle's, my aunt always does it. I don't know who did before they got married. When we go visit H's Nana, we get some sliced turkey from Honeybaked Ham. 2 years ago his uncle made one. Last year we had a Thanksgiving here at our house and I made a turkey breast in the crockpot. It was really good!

With my family, my mom makes the turkey. With H's family, FIL makes the turkey. Luckily, both sets of our parents are good cooks. There is always way more good than necessary, especially at ILs.

This year it is my cousin.  They do turkey, ham and some type of beef.

My mom usually makes it, even when it's not at her house.  Everyone agrees she makes it the best and she's always requested to be the one to make it.
