The fact that this article is from Fox News gives it about the same credibility, in my book, as if it were from the Onion LOL. I'm sure this has been blown way out of proportion by Fox News. 

They also completely got a story wrong from Montgomery County Maryland a few weeks ago. That story was about the Muslim community wanting the school calendar to acknowledge a Muslim holiday that falls on the same day as Jewish holiday. All they wanted was the school calendar to say Jewish holiday/Muslim holiday instead of only acknowledging the Jewish holiday. The school board decided to remove all religious names from school breaks. For example, Christmas break is now Winter Break. Well, once Fox News got a hold of this story, the headline now says "Muslims Force Maryland School District to Cancel Christmas". People in H's family (who live in NY) were sharing it on FB saying OMG how terrible. I had to hold myself back from commenting THAT'S NOT WHAT HAPPENED!

I agree with @brainybrunette that it lost major cred in my book when I saw the source.

No matter what news site I read the article on I had no idea why pb&j was being called racist.

There are almost no news networks that aren't ridiculously and laughably biased, but STILL this one is ridiculous.

So basically, I can't teach my students about anything in our culture so I don't offend my students who come from other cultures? I guess I can't have children from other cultures share things that are common so they don't offend the rest of my class.

I felt like I was reading a joke article on April Fools Day.

No, I agree. they started the story, then changed it completely with the update, and it didn't flow. I had to click the link to read something that made half a bit of sense.
