Skinny Kid Sweatpants

Anyone have any recs for sweatpants for tall/skinny kids? All of ours seem to run shorter than jeans/leggings.   DD hit a growth spurt and any of her sweatpants are too short.  She was in a size 5, but I fear if we move to a size 6 they will be falling off of her.

I avoid stores at all costs between Thanksgiving and Christmas, so I'll be ordering online.  Slim jeans work well, but I can only get her to wear jeans about once a week.  The rest of the time she's been wearing leggings, but those don't seem warm enough for some of the temps that are coming our way.

Re: Skinny Kid Sweatpants

  • Old navy has some fleece leggings (my kiddo also is a legging addict ;). Those might be worth a shot!
  • I don't know about girls sizes, but I always had the best luck for Noah with Carters sweat pants.  They fit his super skinny waist perfectly.
  • Madeline is a skinny kid and the Old Navy fleece leggings are the best warm option for us along with the fleece lined jeans from Baby Gap.  I will say the Old Navy fleece leggings are nearly as thick as the fleece pants for baby but still warmer than leggings.

  • I struggle with the same thing.  I have to take in the sides of all of dd's sweatpants.  Right now she is pretty close to needing a 6 length wise but she is the weight of a 4 year old (at age 5.5).  I got a pair on clearance at lands end that fit her really well.  They are more of a yoga pant though.  Carter's always seems to run short on her.  She does have a size 6 Oshkosh that I did not have to take the waist in on.
