NYE is lame. I plan on going to bed at a normal time and waking up feeling fabulous and not hungover.

Re: Early CPW: NYE

  • NYE is fun! In a "I'm going to stay home, watch the festivities on TV, drink a bit, and fall asleep before the balls drops and enjoy it" way :P

     ~ S & L 8-25-12  ~
  • I picked "fun and we have plans" because "lame" was a little too strong for me. We used to go out for fancy dinners with friends on NYE, but they've all had babies and can't leave the house any more.

We're going out for a more casual dinner with a group of friends who are single/have no children.  But, we're going out early as none of us are interested in staying out until midnight just because it's expected.  Plus, we're all old. :)

  • NYE is fun but we don't have plans yet. I'm not crying in champagne though because A) alcohol = gross and B) I'm sure we'll figure out something, maybe just hang out with my family and watch a movie

T-TTC since Dec 2008. PCOS/nonexistant cycles(anovulation) and endo. HSG in '10 revealed both tubes blocked. Lap surgery in Dec '10 to correct. Failed Clomid/IUI and injectable(Bravelle)/IUI cycles so far.

  • I think it can be fun. We are staying in for a bit, heading to a neighbor's house, and then crashing. Not super exciting, but something!

  • We were invited by our friends house for dinner, but I don't think we will make it.  I will be working till about 6 p.m., I will be happy staying home and getting into bed early.
  • It can be fun, but can also be a let down. This will be the first year it's just the two of us. DH and I have reservations to go out for a nice dinner and we'll probably be back in time to get in comfy clothes and watch the ball drop on tv. I'm looking forward to it as an excuse for a nice date night for us!
  • Usually, we head out to party (last year, we watched the "pinecone" drop, which was so cute and fun in a small town sorta way). This year, we're keeping it a little more low key and heading to a friend's house. We were seriously contemplating just staying home, but since we are hoping for a much better 2015, we figured we should kick it off with some celebration! ;)

    TTC since 3/2012
DH - 36; nml swimmers; Me - 36; almost no AMH (last 0.081), low AFC, nml FSH/LH
    Clomid + IUI #1 (6/2013) - BFN; #2 (7/2013) - BFFN
    IVF 1.0 5R/5F/2T (ET 6/11/2014) - no frosties, but BFP 8dp5dt (EDD 3/1/2015)
Lost our sweet baby boy, Lincoln Alexander 10/3/2014 (19w)
    IVF 2.0 - ER 3/25/2015 - 3R ZERO mature.
    Ovaries are done...
    DE IVF ER - 12/2/2016 (17R/10F = 8 frosties); FET 1.0 (1/27/2017) - BFP 6dp5dt (EDD 10/16/2017)
  • I voted SS. NYE is kinda fun...I guess. We don't have cable, so we won't be able to watch the ball drop. We could go to my parents' house and watch it, but I just don't feel like dealing with all that. DH and I will probably sit at home, drink, and watch Netflix or something like that. I know...we are super lame :(

  • It isn't my favorite holiday, but I love the promise of a new beginning. While 2014 didn't suck nearly as bad as 2012 and 2013, it always feels good to get a new start. We are celebrating with friends- but just a low key night (not going out).

Happy 2015 to all of you!

  • My SS is that DH and I usually spend NYE at home together. We will grab dinner and then cuddle on the couch for the night.
This NYE we have a wedding from 8-1:30 so there will be no cuddling.

  • We just got back into town from seeing my ILs (where I apparently went on an internet hiatus), and tonight we're having a few friends over who are passing through from out of town. We haven't seen them in close to two years, so we're excited about that. We'll probably just drink, play games, and watch the ball drop.

  • We usually do the whole shebang and go into downtown Chicago for a night out with friends.  Our last set of friends moved out of the city this summer, so that is no longer happening. :-(

Instead I have some family members in town from Kansas until tomorrow.  So we will do dinner at my parents, then play games and hang out until midnight.

  • We are going over to a friend's house. A few of us are going to hang out, watch tv, play games, drink (I'm hoping to find some decent NA champagne), watch the ball drop. I just hope I don't fall asleep there! Luckily they live pretty close to us so getting home shouldn't be too bad.

Here's a question! They invited our dog too. He doesn't get along with cats because he only has met one and that one is a mega bitch. They said they'd just put their cat in a room because they want our dog there. WWYD? Bring the dog or leave him home? (PS he is our baby after all)

I'd take them at their word. It's just one evening, and one of our cats is the type who would probably enjoy the solitude (the other one would cry all night, he loves people). They probably know their cat well enough to know it won't be tortured not getting to hang out with people.

  • @islandmonkey8 ... I would def take my dogs if they were invited anywhere (but we have 3 so that very rarely happens). Since you live close by, if it ends up being a disaster, you can always take him back home.
