Anyone use a mobile hotspot for travel?

Looking into one & can't use my phone b/c I have an unlimited data plan so they won't let me tether.  Looking for ideas on other ways

thanks

Re: Anyone use a mobile hotspot for travel?

  • We used to have one, but have since switched to tethering. We don't have unlimited data, so tethering is simpler.

  • DH has used the verizon one for years and is reasonably happy from what I know.  (I borrowed it a number of times, and was similarly happy.)  I think the biggest thing to remember is that it is still dependent on connection/phone signal, so it's not a miracle worker, but he needs constant access, and has used it in the car and traveling a whole bunch.  It is through work, so I can't speak to prices, etc.
