Behr paint that "changes" color

I read where someone painted the rooms in their house the same Behr color, a white or off-white. They stated that the color took on the theme of each room. Blue-ish in one room, green-ish in another. Visitors couldn't believe it was the same paint. I put the info in my phone and have since bought a new phone. Does anyone know what color this may be? I think it was "something" white, but I could be wrong. Thank you for any help!!

Re: Behr paint that "changes" color

  • I wish I knew, it sounds amazing! Following post in case anyone knows...
  • that does sound amazing. I will be watching this for an answer
  • Can you boot up the old phone to check what the name was?

Technically, all paint changes color based on the lighting in the room, so you could paint all of your house one color and each room would have a slightly different hue.
  • Contact Behr paint. I'm sure they'll know, or have suggestions/ an explanation. I don't know of any paint that "changes" color, but it will change with the lighting and may reflect some of the other colors in the room.
  • I know with remodeling our bathroom it's been amazing how much the paint color changes through the day in the same room depending on if it was sunlight or light fixtures.. We bought a gray paint and made sure it would come across as a true gray by trying several different samples. We learned that lesson the hard way after redoing our bedroom, our light gray paint took on a light blue look. Well at certain points of the day it still took on a blue hue. Last night we changed out the light bulbs in our new light fixture to LED lights and finally at night our walls look gray.
  • Ok, I now know what you are talking about!! I was in the paint department at my local Lowe's this past weekend and saw Behr color changing paint - it paints on purple, and dries to white. It's not like it changes color based on the room or light, it changes color because of the dryness of the paint. If I get back there, I will take a photo for you!
  • Several companies make ceiling paint that goes on purple or pink and dries white.  Helps you know where you already painted.....a difficult task when painting white on white. But that wouldn't explain why each room had a different hue.  A paint that takes on different hues in different rooms sounds like it's due to lighting.
