Library users: What do you have checked out right now?

I've got entirely too many and plan to renew the ones unlikely to be on a hold list:

A Little Something Different - Sandy Hall
We were Liars - E. Lockhart
Station Eleven - Emily St. John Mandel
Girl with All the Gifts - E.R. Lockhart
Burial Rites - Hannah Kent
Interpreter of Maladies - Jhumpa Lahiri
The Humans - Matt Haig
Overwhelmed: work, love and play when no one has the time - Brigid Schulte
This is the Story of a Happy Marriage - Ann Pachett

Too many, I tell you!

Re: Library users: What do you have checked out right now?

  • Zero, though I usually have one or two.

I'm obsessive about getting things back and not taking out too much.  I don't have an excuse though, I can see into my library from my kitchen window.

I have checked out 3 books related to childbirth, All that Remains by Patricia Cornwell, Rapture in Death by JD Robb, Screwdrivered by Alice Clayton, and the Young Elites by Maire Lu. Wow, I need to get reading that's a lot of books.

  • I have 21 different things checked out right now. In my defense, half of them are graphic novels, and those can be read quickly.

    Kitty Norville books 10,11,12
    Iron Druid books 1,2,3
    Someone could get hurt (nf)
    Dirty Magic
A Spear of Summer Grass (read it but keeping it out for a book club)
Duxcaelo's book recommendations, favorite quotes, book clubs, book trivia, book lists (2011-goodreads shelf)
    Anniversary
  • Serpent's Kiss by Thea Harrison from their digital catalog. There selection usually sucks, but I always check there first before buying anything.  I usually only have maybe 5 books out tops.

  • I have checked out (ebooks) Shiver, Crown of Midnight and Dragonfly in Amber (reread).  I also have The Dream Thieves out on ebook from the library.  Its technically expired.  I just have to make sure I don't turn on my wi-fi, close the book or let my nook die and then it won't delete.  I tend to drag out my library loans pretty frequently this way.  It seems like I'll be on the waitlist for ever and have to scrounge through my "only if I'm desperate" read list and then bam they sent me 6 books and there is no way I can read them all in a 14 day time frame.

  • Just returned Station Eleven- wasn't a fan

And Winter of the world by Ken Follett on audio.

I think I am going to snatched up a macy beckett book to start.

@packfan20 It's my 4/5 star cup of tea, but I think you would enjoy it.

@julie37619 Being a librarian yourself, do you have a special way of managing that? It's making me anxious looking at that list!

  • Point of Retreat by Colleen Hoover.

I have gotten a lot of digital audiobooks that I don't have to turn back in once they are on my ipod. I'm listening to Shopaholic to the Stars right now.

At the library, I have The Ocean at the End of the Lane waiting for me and Winter Garden.

Wouldn't it be smart if I did?  But no, my method is to read frantically and completely stress out about how I'm going to finish it all.  Then I swear I'll never check out that many again.  Until I get to the library, check out too many and repeat the cycle.
