WIJFR: Yes Please

I got Amy Poehler's book a while ago and I started it, but I didn't finish it last night. Oh MAN I loved this book. I think I related to it a lot being a woman of a similar age and also being someone who is trying to work in a creative field. It felt more like a self-help book for me at times because she was really giving me advice that I could use in my life. I laughed a lot, but I also got tears in my eyes a few times.

It's also a very beautiful book. Gorgeous endpapers, thick, colorful pages, and the best author photo I have ever seen. I've also heard great things about the audio, which Amy Poehler reads.

Re: WIJFR: Yes Please

  • I listened to the audio and liked it way more than I thought I would.  There was just so much more to this book than Amy's sense of humor.  I loved hearing about her pregnancies and the chapter on apologizing, it really surprised me!

  • I agree it's a great book. I've read the book and listened to it on audio. The audio book is even funnier because it's narrated by Amy.
  • I listened to the audiobook and loved it as well. Parks and Recreation is my favorite and I admire the heck out of Amy. I especially appreciated the way she talked about her kids, and working in a demanding creative field and being a mom.

I think I'm in single digits for the audio. I'm so excited!
