I am super torn in my feelings over this.  SO much has happened with her and there are so many rumors about how unstable she is and how she's in such terrible shape and that people have taken advantage of her left and right.  Is she capable of making the decision to publish this or has someone manipulated her into it?  And do I care?  Because NEW HARPER LEE!  I feel like the world needs this book to exist, but I just hope she's truly on board with it being published.

This whole thing is making my squicky now. I was so excited...now I feel dirty. I really really would love to read this book, but now I'm not sure I can do it with a clear conscience.

Despite my mixed feelings I will most definitely read the book.  But I do think that it's super squicky that this is happening only three months after Alice's death and amid widespread rumors that Lee is in terrible health/mental condition.  It does make you think about how we decide when a work is great enough to avoid an author's express wishes to publish.  There have been so many works published posthumously against the author's wishes that I feel like would be a huge loss had they not been published - and this could very well be a modern example.
