Slow Cookers

So when I was putting my crock-pot away the other day after using it, I noticed that there was a huge crack in the stoneware liner.  I am debating on whether to just buy a new liner, ($35+ including shipping & tax).  Or go buy a whole new one.  This is basically the one I have now, (clicky).

My question is what slow cooker do you have and would you recommend it?  Also do you have a "dream" slow cooker?

We have the Breville Fast Slow Cooker. It's a slow cooker, pressure cooker, and steamer all in one. I use it all the time to pressure cool dried beans (10min, no overnight soaking), quinoa (2 min), and steel cut oats (8 min). Rice also cooks super fast! H uses it to slow cook meats. It also has a seer function to sear meats before slow cooking right in the machine, no need to seer on the stove. I've also used the steamer for veggies. It's a bit more pricey than just a slow cooker, but it was the perfect compromise for our 1 meat eater 1 almost vegetarian house!

  • Was going to comment and then realized after clicking the link that I have basically the same one except without the digital display on the front.

I love the thing though and definitely feel I got my moneys worth so far using it.

  • We had an 8 quart crockpot that I broke and we decided it was easier and cheaper just to buy a new crockpot. The new one was slightly smaller (7 quart) but still hold our big pot roasts or when we cook a whole chicken. Its similar to the one you have just it doesn't have the small dipper one with it. I got ours on sale at kohls for $30. We also have a rice cooker that can be used for Slow cooking and You can set it to run at a later date as well but we haven't tried it, we just cook rice in it. I got it at Wal-Mart for $40 but I can't remember the brand.

That's the one we've got. I love it, once the cook time is over, it switches over to keep warm. Love it. I would now have the dream cooker that brainybrunette shared!!

  • We have a Kitchen Aid 5.5 quart slow cooker.  There's an adjustable timer, 3 temperature settings and a warming setting.  I think the size it perfect and it works great for us.
