So, um...how about this weather we're having?
If I didn't have to go out in it later, I'd be enjoying the sight of all the pretty snow right now. But I'm just dreading leaving my office later
Who else is bracing themselves for a school closure tomorrow for the temps? I know there will be a delay for sure, so it's just a matter of waiting around to see if they change to closed overnight....
Re: So, um...how about this weather we're having?
Steve and I were both already working from home tomorrow, so I suspect we'll have two more keeping us company.
I am also dreading the commute home. I plan to bring my laptop home in case of a delay or closure.
Rich is out of town and supposed to fly in tonight...I'm imagining that his flight will be canceled!

Pittsburgh Public just closed for tomorrow due to cold/wind chill. Thankfully DH can work from home part of the day and a neighbor offered to take the kids in the afternoon. I have a super busy day at work tomorrow. Of course.
>:P
My development hadn't been touched by a plow or salt truck I don't think, so that was fun trying to make it down the hill. just a delay for north hills today, though I was kind of secretly hoping they would just close because I didn't really feel like going out in the cold this morning!! No such luck. currently stomping my feet in my office trying to regain some feeling.

As predicted, my kids are off. Michael is sad about missing his early birthday celebration in class, and now I have two dozen mini brownies covered in icing sitting here taunting me as we're all at home, working and playing.
The poor brownies are going to be wasted, as we leave this evening for warmer temperatures. Getting out just in time.

Lisa, if you get a case of cabin fever today, feel free to drop some brownies off downtown!
We had a delay today, and given tomorrow's temps, I'm assuming another delay or closure will happen tomorrow. I work from home on Fridays, so either way, I won't have to go out in the cold!
Parents are seriously cray. Not to dismiss how difficult it is for some families to find alternative care for delays/closures, or to make light of safety concerns, but that doesn't entitle people to act like lunatics.
But I agree nobody needs to yell at people!

1. I hate riding the bus when it's cold.
2. the way my time off policy is at work, if the district clothes due to incement weather, I can burn a sick day to stay home rather than a vacation day.
3. They have off four days for spring break that I have to cover; 3 of those are scheduled as snow make up days, so if they don't use any (we haven't had any closures yet this year), that's 4 days of vacation time Brian and I have to figure out between the two of us.
So in conclusion, I'd rather use a sick day (of which I have many more than I do vacation time), than have to burn a random day off as a vacation day.
