Married Life
Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
What happened to The Nest?
I haven't been on The Nest for a long time, but several years ago Married Life was teaming with active nesties. It seems incredibly slow and dull now. Did The Nest change its format? The other community forums are just as slow.
Re: What happened to The Nest?
Hi all, I'm still brand new posting here (I was on the knot for the past couple of years but didn't participate in the forums) but I was wondering if you knew of other boards that were more active than this one. I've read through some of the past posts and I'd really like to become active in the community. I saw Money Matters mentioned so I'm going to head over there to check it out..
Thanks!
Welcome! I also started on the Knot and even hung out there for a long time after I got married. Primarily because, for some reason, I went through a period of time where I had a lot of tech trouble posting on this board, but I could usually post just fine on TK.
Fortunately, I tried again over here a few weeks ago and now I can post just fine. And just in time. Although I initially found it interesting to read about the tweaks and issues that would crop up with peoples' weddings and all the relationships that surround weddings, it just started getting tiring and SO repetitive. Nothing personal against that board. It's for weddings so that is totally understandable. But The Nest has a MUCH larger variety of topics, even if it isn't as active as The Knot.
And the regular posters here are also pretty chill, nice, and helpful. Whereas some (not all or even most) of the regular posters on TK could be really harsh with people and I found myself starting to wince a lot when I would read replies, lol. Not that the root of their advice wasn't good or valid. It almost always was. But advice to a clueless bride doesn't need to be given with a 50lb. mallet when a velvet glove would usually work just as well.
At any rate, those are some of the differences you will see. I hope you enjoy these forums also!
