So Mars One is a company that wants to send 24 people to Mars around the year 2024. It is a one way trip. They have narrowed their "finalists" down to their top 100. Would you take a one way trip to Mars? Is there anyone you would like to send on a one way trip to Mars?

Re: QOTD 2/19
I wouldn't go because its one way. If it was round trip, then I might be interested. There are a bunch of people that I would send one way though.
Al Roker from the Today Show said that he would send the Kardashian's on the trip so they could visit their home planet.
I would and wouldn't want to go. On one hand, this is amazingly cool. You'd immortalize yourself in history by doing this. And plus, being one of the first people to set foot on another planet! I could deal with the hardship. But I couldn't deal with never seeing some of the people in my life again. Maybe if you'd asked me 10-15 years ago, I'd have a different answer. But now it would be way too painful to say goodbye.
I can't think of anyone I'd like to send to Mars, although I joke with my class when they're getting annoying that I am going to launch them to the moon.
