**Meghan**-target cartwheel

I meant to message you earlier in the week but forgot...after seeing you on Saturday at TArget, I checked my app....I have saved a grand total of $159!  After talking to you about reaching your goal, I felt like I had done something really significant with my day by reaching mine :)  Hope you hit yours, too!!

Also, I thought I was going to be snowed in at the store when I went to leave (which wouldn't have been the worst thing in the world), that whiteout was crazy.  I made it over to studio raw, everyone was just crawling on Siebert.  Then I came out from the salon to find another white out!  I waited it out there (again, not the worst place to be snowed in...I'd have HGTV, cupcakes, and wine....in fact, it was kind of the ideal situation)

Re: **Meghan**-target cartwheel

  • I am up to $167!  The 25% off women's apparel and 30% off of a personal blender that I bought for Rich helped me.  To earn the next badge, you need to save $250.  Game on!!

The snow was crazy!  I had trouble getting up the hill when I turned onto Siebert from McKnight.  A few cars had even pulled over.  The roads were awful.  Being trapped in Studio Raw is definitely not a bad deal!

  • I'm at $152. I feel like it means I shop at Target too much, as most of the coupons I use are for 5% off produce.

  • Oooh - I'm behind! I just looked and I'm at $133! I'm with Lisa, though, typically a member of the 5% off club:P
  • I feel like nothing I buy is ever on cartwheel and if it is it falls in that 5% catagory. Maybe I am just too brand loyal. Usually I just scan whatever it is I am buying and if it pops up I add it.I am at $88.

  • I always sort their offers by discount, and pick from there.  A lot of the deals I've used are 20% off or more because I usually use it for things like clothes/accessories or home stuff.  I've only used a few 5% here and there on things like cleaning supplies.  Either way, I shop at Target way too much.

  • I know a big chunk of mine was from when I bought my iPhone back in December, I think it was 15% off with the app...so that was super exciting. But yes, most of mine are the 5% off random food items, though occasionally I'll hit a good deal (like 25% off picture frames a few months ago, I bought 2 of the larger sized frames, so that was a nice discount)

  • They also had a 40% off kids shoes not long ago.  That was exciting.  I also just noticed that I am the #3 top saver in my group of friends.  This is obviously unacceptable, and I need to get to #1!
  • My best deal ever was 40% off of yoga gear (I was buying a mat and towel and it basically ended up paying for one item). I may have done a happy dance in the middle of the aisle ;)
  • I suck at using cartwheel, I forget half of the time.  If it's the amount under the coupon scanner thing, it says my total savings is $6.02.   I apparently need to spend more time and money at Target.
  • My big savings was when we were visiting Steve's sister at Christmas. He decided that we needed to get her a soda stream. I checked cartwheel after he said that, and coincidentally they were 20% off on cartwheel, and the deal was expiring that day. We got the last one in the store. I was so happy!

  •  Can someone explain to me how you work this without scrolling through every coupon to see if it matches your item? Can you scan your item to see if it comes up somewhere?   I swear nothing I ever buy is one the cartwheel app or i must be using it wrong.

  • Sheila--you can scan items in the store, though I haven't figured this out yet (just because I haven't tried it)  You can also sort by category, so if you know you need, shampoo for instance, you can look in health/beauty to see if they have it.  I"m kind of OCD about the app and I usually just check it every few days for new offers (you can view the full list but sort by newest) that way I'm always up to date. I add everything that I buy on a regular basis or anticipate buying before the expiration date.

  • Yes - in the menu there is a "scan product" option.  You can scan the product and if there's a coupon, it will come up.  If there's not a coupon, it will search for similar deals for you.

There is also a search function.  You can also look up offers by catergory (apparel, electronics, holiday, etc.) or by newest, discount amount, etc.

  • I love the scan product feature!!! It makes it so much easier.

I tend to go through my list/search on my phone before I go and then just scan any extras I pick up along the way.
  • ok good to know - thanks!
