Do you have any interesting or unique traditions?

Hey guys!

I'm new to this site! I was wondering if you guys had
any interesting/bizarre/unique family traditions? They can range from
unique baby showers, to holidays events, to one a year
traditions...anything and everything is welcomed! I'd love to hear them
all!

Re: Do you have any interesting or unique traditions?

  • Well my family always celebrates St. Nick Day (December 6th) and setting our shoe out for little gifts and candy. Also one the coldest day of the year we have what we call a Chilly Willy Party where we grill out and make a huge bonfire outside.

  • Haha, here is my pretty bizarre X-mas tradition.  My mom used to put the traditional orange at the bottom of our stockings.  Then I mentioned to her one year...when I was probably about 7 or 8 years old....that I would rather have a can of olives.  Because I loved olives as a kid...heck, I still do.  So she started giving me a can of olives.

Although I now live 1500 miles away from my mom, when my awesome husband (b/f at the time) first heard about this tradition, he ran with it and always makes sure I have a can of olives in my stocking every year, lol.
