Nervous Newlywed in VA *PLEASE ADVISE! :( *

Hello fellow nesties! As the title would suggest, I am not a Dallas/Fort Worth nestie... well yet anyway...

My husband is trying to sell me on moving to Dallas. I have never really been outside of VA. He's given me the schpeal (no income tax, better economy, better jobs), but my issue is he is a Texan. Thus, I cannot help but think he may be over glorifying the state. Also, I have anxiety, so I always feel like we're going to get there and something that was never mentioned before will bite us (like sudden fees and crazy state stuff....not spiders. I am aware of those.) I honestly do want to leave VA (Commonwealth economy is terrible and I hate it in a way only people from VA can), but I dont want to rush into a decision.

I'm just looking for advice and possibly some more information on the state and Dallas area to set my mind at ease. Can anyone help?

  • I would not suggest Dallas, but Fort Worth instead! Fort Worth seems more homey to me than the big Dallas and I think you would enjoy it more. I have lived in both and prefer Fort Worth a hundred times over. I'm biased but I love Texas. I hope you like it here too if you move here!

    I agree.
