Intro

Hey there, everyone! I lurk on this board quite a bit, but I'd love to start posting here, too. I'm not sure what info is generally in an intro around here, so if there's anything you want to know, I'm happy to answer.
I've been pretty solid financially since adulthood, other than a few really big mistakes in college. But this year, I've set some lofty goals, so my hope is posting here will keep me true to those goals and keep my eye on the prize : ) I look forward to "getting to know" you!

    Welcome!

Be sure to participate in the Monday accountability posts.  It's a good way to track your goals and frankly, it kind of forces you to be honest with yourself about the financial week you just had.  Sometimes I cringe when I look back, but it's a good exercise!

Can I ask what those lofty goals are?  I'm nosy/curious :)

    EDIT: Spelling.  Sigh.

  • Welcome!  I'd love to hear about your goals as well :).  It's fun for everybody to share; then we can cheer each other on and celebrate when we reach those goals!
  • Welcome! Where are you from? (don't have to give specific details)
  • I'm happy to share goals! My biggest one is to have my last student loan paid in full by the end of the year. We will also be moving out of state in the next 15-18 mos, so we're saving to buy another house when the time comes. My goal is to save an additional $15-20k on top of what we have now. We are also planning a tentative trip to Disney World in January for our anniversary.

We currently live in St. Louis. We've been here for the last 9 months. MO is our third state in three years. Our next move will be our last, thankfully.
  • Welcome!  You're in good company, many of the folks on this forum area also trying to pay off student loans and/or save for a house down payment.

There is a wealth of information here and everyone is very supportive of each other.  And while MM is the main name of the board, we do chit chat about a lot of stuff on here.  It's a fun forum.

  • Welcome and good luck on your goals!
