Trader Joe's recommendations

Since the north hills Trader Joe's finally opened I wanted to get some recommendations for things to try. I'm hoping to stop in next week sometime. For once I'm actually happy to add another store to my weekly grocery shopping rotation!

    Very Berry Cereal
Cheddar Cheese Sticks (I get the light)

  • I don't shop there alot since it was a haul but I like the breakfast bars in addition to other things mentioned above.  My sister swears by the peanut butter pretzels (which she said the new store couldn't keep on the shelves).  She likes all the snacks.  I like the 2 buck Chuck but that won't be there :(

  • I love their cheese selection. I've liked everything I've tried. I get their shredded cheese, Brie bites and a block of a cheddar Parmesan blend that is my favorite.

I also love their lavender dryer sachets (like natural fabric softener -- smells amazing), their Raisin Rosemary crisp crackers, their thin and crispy cookies in coconut and ginger flavors, frozen tamales, refrigerated butternut squash ravioli, pumpkin waffles (seasonal), and pizza dough (great for grilled pizza). I also buy their dog treats.

  • Oh, and TJ's is my favorite place to buy fresh flowers. Great prices.

  • I just went there yesterday for the first time...loved it, I swear I'm never going back to giant eagle ever again!

Haven't tried everything yet, but the cheese looks amazing (I'll probably dig into that over the weekend)....I also got gorgonzola crackers and hummus that I've had at a friend's house, it's sooo good.  I grabbed little frozen chocolate covered banana bites for the kids, they loved them last night.  I'll let you know more once I sample the rest of my stuff :)

  • OH! And around Thanksgiving they have mini pumpkin pies that are insanely good. Like I don't even like pie crust all that much and I couldn't get enough.

I need to go to TJs soon, clearly :P
  • Oh, the frozen fried rice is awesome too.

  • I agree with the cheese selection. I'm actually planning to run to TJs at lunch to get gruyere for croque madame sandwiches I want to make for dinner tonight.

I buy the big pound plus chocolate bars when I need to melt chocolate down to cover something (chocolate covered oreos, etc).

We love their version of Terra chips. I also really like their berry jams.

The already cooked breaded chicken tenders are great making a for a quick salad topped with chicken.
