WIJFR: Inside the O'Briens by Lisa Genova

I read this for SuBC for the book about family relationships. It was amazing. It was about a close knit family dealing with their father being diagnosed with Huntington's disease and how that diagnosis affected each member of the family. It was so heart breaking and it made me cry so much but it was also kind of inspiring. The family was incredibly brave in the face of such a horrifying disease.

Anyway, I loved this book and would definitely recommend it. The author also wrote 'Still Alice' so I may have to check that one out next.

  • I was curious about this one - I read Still Alice, and loved it. Hard books to read, though.

  • I read Still Alice and, although it was a great book, I still try to not think about it. My grandfather had Alzheimer's, so I get all freaked out about it. Having learned about Huntington's disease in nursing school, I don't think I could get through this one.

  • I'm looking forward to this one- I love Lisa Genova's books!  I highly recommend Still Alice.  Left Neglected and Love Anthony were both excellent as well.
