weekend plans

Happy Friday!  Anything exciting going on this weekend?

Tonight: Jake has baseball practice, Brian is coaching so he's there by default :)  Liam and I are going to go grocery shopping while they're there.  DVR catch up after kids go to bed.

Saturday: Liam has his first tball game in the morning.  Unfortunately, we have to go car shopping, BLAH!!!  There are few things I hate more than shopping for a new car, the entire process is annoying to me. Anyway-the plan is that Brian is going to go test drive a few and do all of the price gathering, then i'll go back and drive whatever he has it narrowed down to and we'll decide from there.  Looks like the weather will be nice, so hopefully I can get some stuff done outside while the kids play....dinner on the grill in the evening!

Sunday: I have a baby shower to go to, Brian plans on starting on the treehouse with the boys while I'm gone.

Oh no! I'm guessing not the van, right? Because I think there'd be some colorful words if this were the van ;)

    Tonight - groceries. WHEE:P

Tomorrow - nothing much, hubs is cutting the grass.

Sunday - participating the in the crockpot cook off at Studio Raw :)
  • Gwen--no, thank goodness not the van!!  it's the Nissan Sentra we've had for almost 8 years, though I'm still irritated because it only has 68K miles on it.  I thought we'd get a few more years out of it, but we've had so much go wrong with it over the past 6 months, I feel like we've had it in the shop every few weeks!  So I guess it's time to let it go before it's something major.

How fun that you're doing the crockpot cook off!

  • Haha- I remember when you GOT the Sentra! But yes, if it's starting to become a hassle - sounds like it is time. I really like my Elantra if you guys are staying in that car size :)

Thanks! I think it will be a lot of fun :)
  • haha, the Sentra was our upgrade when we found out I was pregnant with Jake...seemed like a good time to get rid of the 2 door Pontiac Sunfire...little did I know just a few short years later, I'd be "upgrading" to a swagger wagon.
    :P

The elantra was what Brian drove that we traded in for the van, he was really happy with it, too (it had over 100K miles on it and was just at that point starting to go down hill)  We may look at slightly bigger cars, like a Nissan Rouge or Subaru Outback, but we really haven't done much research on pricing or quality or anything...tomorrow will pretty much be day 1 of looking into any of that stuff, so I'm hoping something jumps out at us!

  • My BFF from college and her son are coming for the weekend. They will be visiting her aunt tonight, so just a quiet night at home.

Tomorrow is Todd's first baseball practice/game and then most of the day at CMU Spring Carnival.

Sunday after my friend leaves, just groceries and cleaning. Todd's bday is next week, so some de-cluttering is in order to make room for kids to play.

  • Tonight: we are going to dinner for my birthday. We are trying One Thirty One East in Carnegie which is amazingly difficult to get a reservation for. Who knew Carnegie was so hot? Although there is a new upscale breakfast/lunch restaurant called Bakn opening up next month I am super excited about.

Saturday: I must go get my divers license picture taken. I will probably go over to my parents for a bit, they are babysitting my nephew for the weekend. I also need to pick up the dress my sister got me for my birthday. It is pink with boston terriers on it. :x

Sunday: Clean, work in the yard. I also want to check out a new gym that opened by work.

Sunday - WW, church, DH and Noah are doing the Great Amazing Race again
  • Tonight - Bingo at Hayden's school

Tomorrow - Hayden has social skills in the morning, I must go grocery shopping since we are out of everything and then we are going to my nephew's b-day party at 4:00

    Sunday - Pirate game :)

  • @kris356 Carnegie is happening!  We went to the mead place the other weekend and it was nice.  I noticed that Bakn was coming soon and it is on the must try list.  Also went to Carnegie Coffee Company and it was a nice place to have a coffee.

Fri - Left work early and enjoyed the weather while hanging out at CMU.  Just finished some baking.  I am trying a Toll House pie for the first time.  I hope it turns out.

Sat - Gym, trivia game and then taking the food I made Fri to the tailgate/Pirates game

Sun - No plans so maybe out for dinner.  We haven't been to Bella Frutteto in a long time.

We live in Collier with a Carnegie mailing address. With no construction detour it takes 10 minutes to get to Carnegie and be parked(with the closure this weekend it was at least 30 minutes and to get to town was over an hour) and I actually drive down Main on my way to work every day. It is nice that things are moving in. My husband grew up and Crafton and has some lovely nicknames for Carnegie. It really was almost a deal breaker on the house that it has a Carnegie address.

There is an awesome stationary store also that sells the cutest gift items as well as Modern Mercantile which sells unique gifts also.
