So now that I'm done with my Friends binge I'm back to reading this and I'm not happy. Over halfway done and not nearly enough has happened. Why is this one so slowwwww?

It's a slow start, but I actually really ended up liking her time with Rowan.

They have to fully display the depth of her grief and despair so that we are left not knowing if she can pick herself back up. She's wrecked. Basically emotionally destroyed as a child and then raised by a sadist. It's amazing she's sane at all.

But you get Manon Blackbeak and Aedion Ashryver who are both kick ass new characters for Book 3, so it helps the chapters pass.

I promise that the Celaena chapters pick up.

I felt the same way. The first 25% was basically sad Celeana is sad. Though I get it, and thought it was warranted, it was also soooo slow.  I didn't care too much about Manon for a while either, so pretty much the only thing that kept me hanging in there were the chapters with Dorian and Sorcha (is that her name? something like that) until Celeana came back around with Rowan.

Oh man, I love a wrecked C, so the early chapters were golden to me. But I agree, it's certainly slower than the previous books. But, I swear, it does pick up and get insane with awesomeness.
