Mother's Day

What is everyone planning for their moms? What would you like for Mother's Day? I'm back to the yearly struggle of what to get my mom. She is SO hard to buy for. She always enjoys events (tea, cooking classes, etc) but I'm coming up dry on ideas this year. Hoping to be inspired by all of you!

Me and my two youngest sisters are getting her a new vase, a glass carafe to make iced tea, and an assortment of teas to go with it.

Nearly every year, I get my mom a gift card to her local greenhouse to put toward some of her annual flowers.  Nothing too unique, but I know it's something that she will use, so we've stuck wtih that the past few years.  I'm not sure yet what we will send to my MIL, maybe the same thing this year.

As for what I'm hoping for, I already ordered it myself, haha!!  I saw this at target the other day & had to have it, so I ordered it for myself and then told Brian that part of my mother's day gift has already been taken care of:

We're sending my MIL a box of Cheryl's cookies and I asked for gift cards for me. For an event - what about one of those painting classes (like Painting with a Twist)? I think they're doing some special Mother's Day paintings and it's a lot of fun:)

For my mom I'm either going with bubble bath or a GC to Bed Bath and Beyond/Christmas Tree Shops.

For event types of gifts what about a home tour?  I took mom to Mexican War Street tour the other year and she liked it.

There is a CLO cabaret musical on Groupon right now and Kinky Boots is coming in August.

@sarahandtim Margaret's Imports tea shop does tea tasting class sometimes.  It is a good class but a little too "classroomish" with the potential to get a little long and boring...but very informative and a nice way to try different teas.

for anyone that wants to give their husband's "hints" or fun gifts from kids to your moms, try dots & doodles on Perry Highway www.dotsanddoodles.com. They have really fun pottery the kids can paint (for mother's day they are doing a plant holder) to give to your mom or to you.  Also canvases or wine glasses.  I'm taking the kids to do a platter for John for Father's Day for the grille.

We went there for Christmas gifts and they were FANTASTIC!  And I thought pretty reasonably priced for all we did.  (S's reindeer handprints were on their facebook for a while. )
