Exercise and Eating Well

Since the board is moving today...... how is everyone doing with the exercise and eating well. We haven't posted about in awhile. :) I need motivation.

Re: Exercise and Eating Well

  • Trying to get back to it :(

My class that I take at work ended a few weeks ago, and of course when it was over I was all motivated and all "oh yeah, I'm going to work out at home until the next session starts in the summer semester!"

Number of times I worked out since that last class: 0

I just popped in 30 day shred yesterday (and I'm paying for it today); the class at work starts back up next week and I know if I don't do something before then I'll regret it as I'm dying in the class.

I need eating/cooking motivation.  We are stuck in a rut of rotating through the same few foods (baked chicken, pasta, tacos, the occasional burger on the grill now that it's nice)  It's definitely harder with baseball thrown into our schedule some nights, those nights are just a wash at this point, it's a every man for himself kind of situation on our way out the door.

  • I've just started back to my fitness pal and it seems to be going well. I'm finally able to fit back into 1 pair of pre baby jeans. After Ben my body has truly been a mess. After Logan it went back to normal after about 5 months, but this time it's just not. Next step is to get back to some serious exercising.

  • Ugh, I need to get back on board with this. I haven't made it to yoga in weeks due to obligations and while I could totally do yoga at home - I haven't:/ I need to quit making excuses and just do it.
  • My eating is pretty good.  I still do WW and I had been on a plateau for months, but it seems like I've gotten over that the past few weeks, so that was a relief.  It was HARD to stick to it when I was losing/gaining the same few pounds and really wasn't going off the rails.  But I figure that's when I *should* stick to it.

I haven't been quite as good with exercise because I just don't/won't do it at home.  I always have good intentions and then I can find 1,000,000 other things to do instead.  Soccer and baseball started, so I haven't been to class as regularly as I normally would.   But, all of the sports will be over in early June, so I can get back to it then.   I do try to get in my 10,000 steps daily though.  So at least it's some movement.  Last week I hit it every day but Friday.
  • After a really, really long slump, I feel like I am finally starting to get back into regulary good (or at least better) habits.

I've been good about portion control and water intake. I'm not getting in as many work outs as I'd like, but we have been pretty active with the nicer weather. As much as I love/hate running, I realized I need to get back into doing that more regularly - more for my metal health than physical! So, I'd like to work on getting at least 2-3 runs in a week, and 2-3 other work outs a week. I'm about 10lbs away from my shorts fitting comfortably, so I need to get at it!

  • Like Meghan, I feel like I am back in a better place after a long slump. I have been debating whether to log my food intake. I hate doing it, but I know it helps. A lot.

I've been wearing my Fit Bit again. Getting to 10,000 steps every day has not been working. My current goal is at least 5,000 steps every day and 10,000 three times a week. Trying to find ways to make that happen. Right now, eeeking out time for walking is easier than anything else...but even that is not easy.

Other than being pregnant, I'm up at a weight I haven't seen since 2000. Most importantly, I don't want the number to go any higher!

  • I haven't exercised in ages, but I joined ww on April 4 and have lost about 7 pounds so far. One of my co-workers is out on leave and I have been doing his job and working extra days and it is way more physical than my desk job so I think that it's helped me to lose weight and inches!

  • I did great for a few weeks, then I got sick this week and it threw everything off--eating and exercising.

Last Friday DH and I took the kids for a bike ride.  DD can't ride as far as we were planning to go, so I had the kids in the trailer (and they just barely fit).  Man, did they get heavier since last year.  I was sore for days after that.

I'm hoping to squeeze in a nice long SOLO bike ride this weekend.  I love the 1-2 hours of solitude.

I wasn't great over winter and my weight has creeped up. Too much junk (I swear every holiday I get candy and sarris!) and I wasn't running in the cold!!

I am still getting in zumba a few times a week and I'm trying to get back into running now that the weather is better. I definitely lost a lot of improvement from last summer but not starting back at square 1 at least. Some days are hit or miss.

I do want to AW that I ran 10K last night. It's the furthest I've ever run and I actually ran the whole time. Normally I run at a faster pace but take quick breaks but I ran all of it. And I didn't feel too bad! I actually might have run further if my phone (with my gps and music!) hadnt died and it was getting late! I'm so proud of myself!!! A couple years ago I didn't know how I'd ever do the C25K program because I couldn't run a minute much less over 6 miles!!! And I was pretty happy with my pace at a little under 10 min/mile.
