Monday Accountability

Morning Everyone!

1. How MM was your weekend?

2. Any progress towards goals?

3. Would you rather be able to eat anything and any quantity of food with no negative health effects, or be refreshed and well rested after only three hours of sleep?

Re: Monday Accountability

  • 1. $10 Breakfast with old co-workers, $35 anniversary lunch at our wedding spot, $24 Gas

    2. $1,000 to house fund

    3. I choose to be able to eat anything and any quantity of food with no negative health effects. This would be a dream come true, I have such a sweet tooth but am cautious about gaining weight from it. It would be great to not have to worry about weight and health for once!

    1. It was great!  My parents got the dinner bill after my brother's graduation on Saturday. Sunday evening was so beautiful so we purchased custard for $6 and enjoyed on the patio.

    2. Friday we scheduled a payment for today to pay off 3 of H's student loans. Feels great :) Only 3 student loans left to go! Our goal is to pay off his student loans and car loan by the end of this year.

    3. I would also choose to eat anything.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

Okay.  Spent $150 on yard supplies, and $130 on groceries.  H also went out with a friend Saturday night and that was $25.  All within budget, but still sucks to spend the money.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

Not this week, but we made great progress last week.

    3. Would you rather be able to eat anything and any quantity of food with no negative health effects, or be refreshed and well rested after only three hours of sleep?

    Give me all the food!

  • 1. Ok! I spent the exactly budgeted for $130 on gifts and fun for H's birthday. We also spent $20 at the farmers' market (grocery fund) and $3 on dog treats.

    2. We will make small contributions to the e-fund, travel fund, and my Roth on our paydays. Next month is bonus pay checks, do the real progress begins!

    3. Sleep! I tend to like healthy food anyway, but I'm always tired.
  • 1. TBH, Not great, but could have been worse. Friday $30 for nephew's birthday. Saturday $111 for groceries. Sunday $30 for dinner out, $111 at Target, $215 at Home Depot (I swear I only went in for a new towel rack for our bathroom that I'm re-doing--came out with a new faucet and a few other bath items...oops!)

    2.  I managed to put an extra $35 towards DH's SLs!

    3.
Honestly, sleep! I could get so much done in a day! I love food, but in general I tend to eat pretty healthily already (seriously, as a kid one of my fave foods was broccoli, lol) and I'm lucky enough to have inherited my mom's fast metabolism, so I've never really had to worry about what I eat. But I'm always tired and running out of hours in the day.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? Not awful. Friday anniversary dinner with H- $50; Saturday lunch- $13; Sunday movie- $13

    2. Any progress towards goals? Cash flowing purchases on our CC. Also, got $80 back on our 2nd washer we had to purchase because it went on sale the day we picked it up! Plus I caught up on all my laundry!

    3. Would you rather be able to eat anything and any quantity of food with no negative health effects, or be refreshed and well rested after only three hours of sleep? Give me the food also... I would love to eat whatever I wanted and not gain weight.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?  It wasn't too bad, but we were bad about eating out this weekend.  Friday night--ordered takeout $40; Saturday--volunteered at Bark for Life and bought cake supplies $25; Sunday--more volunteer work, then grocery shopping $140, gas $28, ate out for an early dinner $42

    2. Any progress towards goals?  No change this week

    3. Would you rather be able to eat anything and any quantity of food with no negative health effects, or be refreshed and well rested after only three hours of sleep?  Food!  I love food.

    Morning Everyone!

    1. How MM was your weekend? Pretty good- groceries ($153), kohl's ($12), target ($9 - returned $31, spent $40).

    2. Any progress towards goals? $500 went to savings and we only have one more full time/2 children day care bill left!

    3. Would you rather be able to eat anything and any quantity of food with no negative health effects, or be refreshed and well rested after only three hours of sleep? This one is tough- probably sleep though. It would give me a lot of time to get stuff done while the girls are sleeping too.

  • Not spending any money last weekend is coming back to bite us.

    1. How MM was your weekend?  No final tally yet, but $22 on pizza (take out) Friday night, I spent $70 at Jo Ann Fabric on craft supplies (new curtains, pillows and art work), our printer went out a few weeks ago and I bought a new all-in-one printer ($95) and ink ($40).  The printer and ink will be a business expense for DH's freelance work so at least that is a tax write off and will be paid for out of his business account.  DH needed new jeans and socks and I'm not sure what he spent.  None of this was really budgeted for.  I also spent a little money at Home Goods and Meijer yesterday.

    2. Any progress towards goals? Status quo.  Continuing current spending/saving levels while I look for a job.  I have an interview tomorrow though!

    3. Would you rather be able to eat anything and any quantity of food with no negative health effects, or be refreshed and well rested after only three hours of sleep?  Eat anything without adverse affects!!!!!

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

All budgeted, but pricey for us. $49.92 for datenight (dinner with an appetizer! candy from the dollar store, and interstellar on redbox), $25 for DH to golf with guys from church.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

$1304 towards SL $100 toward car savings.

    3. Would you rather be able to eat anything and any quantity of food with no negative health effects, or be refreshed and well rested after only three hours of sleep?

SLEEP. I'd rather be refreshed and well rested after 8! hours of sleep.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

Restocked the fridge after our vacation, so that was a harsh $328 spent at Sam's Club.  Eek!  But at least didn't spend money on anything else.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

Paid my HELOC down another $300.

    3. Would you rather be able to eat anything and any quantity of food with no negative health effects, or be refreshed and well rested after only three hours of sleep?

I can't tell you how much I wish for the food one!  But then, it's different for me because I also have a serious medical condition (Type I Diabetes) directly related to the balance between food and insulin.  Yeah, being the perfect weight would be phenomenal, but having my medical condition disappear would be 100X better.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

A little spendier than I wanted. On Friday: $21 (barnes and noble), $46 groceries, $15 craft supplies; Saturday: $15 beer (DH); Sunday: $9 ice cream, $44 gas.

I did sell a baby swing for $30 and I also sold cloth diapers for $55 + shipping so I'm pretty excited about that.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

We marked the first step on our goals list by putting an offer on a piece of land, putting down the good faith estimate, and having our offered accepted by the seller! The home plan we like has also been approved by the seller (owns the cul-de-sac so we need to have the plan approved before we go any further). We also put $177 into our vacation savings which also met our goal, and another $182 into our house savings.

    3. Would you rather be able to eat anything and any quantity of food with no negative health effects, or be refreshed and well rested after only three hours of sleep?

I would rather sleep. I already can eat whatever I want without worry so I would rather catch up on the lack of sleep with an 8 month old and 5 year old who likes to sleep with me.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? A little over budget, but not terrible. $35 dinner and drinks with my staff on Friday. $35 dinner and drinks with H on Saturday. $85 groceries. H left again for work yesterday, and with him traveling so much, every once in awhile it's nice to just go for dinner and a drink and hang out together for a night. This entire month, we will see each other 4 days.

    2. Any progress towards goals? $389 to my student loan. Less than $2k to go!

    3. Would you rather be able to eat anything and any quantity of food with no negative health effects, or be refreshed and well rested after only three hours of sleep? What a toss up this is. but food wins, I think!

    1) We had a spendy weekend, but it was budgeted.  About $120 for groceries/food.  Both cars needed gas so around $55 for that (prices are slowly going up again...).  We also picked out appliances which I ordered this morning.  Between Memorial day sales, a 10% off coupon, and ebates it saved us quite a bit.  I'm getting like $120 back from ebates!

We also had a 30% off coupon to Kohl's so I got some breathable shirts for the gym and travel and H got a couple pairs of golf shorts (he didn't own any).  It was less than $90 for 5 shirts and 2 pairs of shorts.

Also another $90 for door supplies.  We plan to get to the halfway point on doors next weekend, and we decided to save time by getting the supplies purchased and the boards ripped this weekend.  Next weekend should be a lot of work, but very little spending.

Then we picked out granite.... and pulled the trigger on that today as well!  I surprised myself by liking the wilder patterns a lot more than the simple ones.  We ended up going with something that reminds me of the Lascaux caves.  Or maybe a Jackson Pollock.  I can't decide. It's kind of out there though.

    2) Got the big decisions squared away on our kitchen remodel.  We got the appliances for less than we expected, but we went overbudget on granite.  Worth it though because we both just love it, and together it was basically a wash.  From here on out, I don't think there are very many question marks, so we have a pretty set budget at this point.  That's a relief.

    3) Definitely food.  Give me all the food.  Oh and give me an unlimited budget for nice restaurants please...

  • 1 - I don't really remember - I'm having allergy issues today.  We went out to eat dinner friday night ($40), rented a few movies ($5), take out chinese saturday ($12), target ($100), yoga donation ($5)

    2 - $75 towards savings

3 - I eat pretty well so I would love to only need 3 hours of sleep because I could get just SO much more done.  With a 4 year old I feel like I"m constantly falling behind on everything.

    1. How MM was your weekend?  Not good, I got a fishing license, a starter pole for my son and a new pole for myself, total $60 that was not budgeted.  Went over budget for groceries by another $40.  All of this over spending will come out of my extra payment towards my credit card.

    2. Any progress towards goals?  Not yet, waiting on my credit card statement before making the next round of payments on it.  Slowly getting closer to paying it off just need to not have any more car repairs or other emergencies come up.

    3.
Would you rather be able to eat anything and any quantity of food with

three hours of sleep?  I would love to be able to eat any quantity of food and not worry about my weight.  I even have dreamed of being able to do this.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?
    $120 groceries, $50 plants/flowers, $50 lawn stones, statue.

    2. Any progress towards goals?
    $250 in savings

    3. Would you rather be able to eat anything and any quantity of food with no negative health effects, or be refreshed and well rested after only three hours of sleep?

Eat anything! Although if I were well rested after three hours of sleep, maybe I could work out more!

  • 1. It wasn't bad, $95 on groceries. Then H decided to go shopping yesterday. He's been bit by the running bug and has committed to a 10K in July and a half-marathon in October (great! he needed some motivation to run), but he decided that 2 pairs of running shirts and 2 wicking shirts won't be enough for the summer (I agree). So he went out to go pick up "a couple shorts and a couple shirts" he came back with 5 pairs of shorts and 6 new shirts and spent $135. I'm trying to decide if I should make him return half of it, I know it will be useful for him, but I think he could get by with less and even pick up a "couple" more things later this summer.

    2. nothing to savings. we're going back and trying to reduce our propane-rate, sometime in the last year the price per gallon went up 50% from our current supplier, we're not budgeted for that. Especially since our electric rate has almost doubled in the last year, so glad we've decided to replace windows and are exploring solar.

    3. I run so I can eat, and my tastes are pretty healthy....I pick sleep!

  • That's great! Good luck!
  • 1. Back from our big vacay! We did pretty well, it's looking like we only went about $300 over budget, which we both feel good about. 2. Only $670 left on my student loan! I'll be putting about $550 toward it tomorrow and then the rest will get taken care of with H's end of the month check. SO excited!!! 3. Food. All of the food.

Yay! That's awesome you're almost done with school loans! Congrats. :D
