Tracking calories

Anyone else tracking? What app are you using? Want to do a weekly check-in for motivation?

My clothes have started to feel tight, so this weekend I did a little digging and realized I've gained 15 pounds since the last time I tracked calories 3+ years ago. :-(

So this weekend I started again. I did pretty well the past two days. It definitely prevented me from randomly snacking while I made dinner and caused me to be more moderate when we went out for pizza. I kind of hate doing it, but I know it works.

I also managed to get 10,000 steps twice this weekend. If only my regular chores resulted in as many steps as gardening does!

  • I use myfitnesspal for tracking calories.  I get so frustrated though because we cook from scratch so much it takes forever to add everything in--so usually after a few days (or when I have a recipe too complicated to tackle) I slack off.  :-( 

    I'd be game for a weekly check-in for motivation!

  • I am horrible at tracking calories, but when I do, I use My Fitness Pal.
  • Yep, I have been back on my fitness pal for about a month now. I'm losing baby weight, so I'm thrilled to see that coming off rather quickly now that I'm tracking. The problem is that now my weight is redistributed so my clothes still aren't fitting right. I kept hearing that the second baby is the one that really changes your body and I didn't believe it until it happened. Ugh. As much as I hate constantly tracking, it does work.

    I'd love a weekly check in and recipe ideas or just meal ideas. I feel like I'm getting burned out on my go to meals.

    Amyjoy, do you cook a lot from online recipes? I've discovered their recipe importing tool and it makes things SO much better! I used to just not track homemade food because it was so tedious, but since 99% of my recipes are online and can be imported it's a game changer.

  • I'm using MyPlate. It let's you add in your own recipes/meals, so my goal is to add our common recipes as I make them the first time, so I won't have to keep doing it.

    I just made myself look at the Qdoba online menu/nutrition info before walking over to get my lunch. Holy calories in my usual taco order!

    I have used the lose it app. Not doing now but would love to have the motivation of others! I keep saying June 1 it is game on thanks to too many other things that will result in bad eating this week. :)
  • I do WW, but I'd participate in another check in here.  Any type of motivation helps!   
  • Trying to be strong. A sales rep dropped off Panera cookies in our lunchroom.

    I just typed in what I ate for lunch. I would have to choose between a cookie and eating dinner...

  • I called today "Sarah versus the break room donuts." It was TOUGH, but I won! Then we went to paint monkey and I are too many crackers and cheese and wine. I'm feeling awful now. Ugh. Tomorrow is another day!

    I brought two servings of chili and an avocado for lunch today and tomorrow. It's going to take a lot of strength to save half of the avocado for tomorrow...
