Weird cycle question (loss mentioned)

Possibly TMI... You have been warned. :P

A little background.. Lost baby at 19 weeks (induced and delivered on 10/3/2014). Continued with bleeding for >6 weeks until OB/GYN finally scheduled me for D&C (around 11/20/2014). Bleeding stopped, finally, soon after. Met with RE who started me on BCP's to try to "preserve" what may have been left (DOR diagnosis) and work on increasing my AMH. In March, ready for and moved forward with IVF #2. We had 3 eggs retrieved, but none were mature. All hormones/meds discontinued at that point. Started AF on 4/5; pre-IVF/pregnancy typical. Next AF on 5/2; a little lighter, but otherwise typical. Next AF due around 5/29-6/1. On 6/1, since AF never appeared did FMU with digi. Negative. Later in the day, some light cramping and spotting started (dark red/brown). Spotting has continued since then (no increase or change in flow or color). Another negative digi with FMU yesterday.

Unfortunately, my doc is out of town until next week, but I am scheduled for an appointment on Thursday. I'm just curious if anyone has had a similar experience (having spotting during when you would typically have a period)? If so, what ended up being the cause? I'm sorta thinking this might be a thyroid issue? I've been a little more tired recently, but otherwise, I'm feeling great. If there wasn't any bleeding, I would just assume that my cycle is still adjusting, but since I am, just way less than ever, I don't know what to think. I should add that I'm not temping or monitoring in any way (needed a major mental break after this past year).

TIA!

  • When you say spotting, how much do you mean? Not enough to need a panty liner, you definitely need a panty liner, or you have to change your panty liner more than once per day?

I'm sorry you're going through all this.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. From my experience, it took awhile for my body to get back to 'norm' after a loss. Sometimes it seemed like my cycles were back on track and then the next month something wonky would happen, like super heavy bleeding, or spotting for a few days then nothing, then spotting for another week. It sounds like this is what's going on, but if you are concerned, definitely speak to your dr when they get back. Big, big hugs.

  • I wish I had an answer for you. I don't have cycles so I never got to a norm after our loss. But, if your spotting is red and you need a pad, it may count. I hope when your doc gets back you get some answers.

Sorry again for the TMI, but it's about the same amount as a "regular" days' discharge. It's just that it's dark red/brown.

Definitely not enough to need a pad or tampon.
