Installing Windowless Air Conditioner

Hi folks! Hope you can help me out.

We just picked up one of these portable ac units. I'm looking at the directions now and I see that it has to be vented through a window. We have sliding windows. The box includes an ugly piece of cardboard to pop in the window frame. Then you feed the tube out of it to vent. It looks awful. What are my alternatives?

Thanks

Re: Installing Windowless Air Conditioner

  • Get a piece of wood and cut a hole to the side of the vent house, use the cardboard as a template. Then paint the wood white which will probably blend in better. It will also last longer & hold up to the weather better. If you want to make it even more weather tight, you can attach weather stripping around the edges of the board.
