St. Seb's festival

i'm seeing signs all over the place for this festival. Have you been to it before? If so, do you recommend? How crowded is it? any advice to beat the crowds? and where the heck do you park???

Re: St. Seb's festival

  • Yeah, that's where Sheila (bride2003) and I belong. It can get crowded, but you can still get around. This year they're offering ride all day passes ($18 maybe??) and a kids zone where you pay a flat rate ($5 I think?) and the kids can play all of the games. If you get there early in the evening it isn't as crazy. There are a ton of food options, so if you want you can eat there.

Parking is either in the upper parking lot or in the lot across the street. There are police officers and volunteers directing traffic in and out of the lots all night.

Let me know if you have any other questions! We always have a great time. :)

  • As Sarah said I belong to St Sebs as well.  My sisters and I coordinate the games & this year the kids zone so its going to be great (pray for no rain!).  There are alot of special events during the week.  Tues the Carnegie Science Center is coming to the kids tent for a hands on presentation. Weds is Family Night so there are discounts available.   Thurs & Fri  an Elsa "lookalike" will be inside taking pictures with the kids.  Saturday KDKA kidscast will be there & Eat & Park cookies on hand.   Its $5 for 10 activities/games geared for 8 & under.   Plus outside the tent there are a bunch of other games/rides for all ages.  Photo booth, selfie sticks etc etc.. Super Bingo on Weds in cafeteria plus flea market all week.

Lots of fun - come check it out.  Parking in upper lot or across street in gravel lot (lots of cops directing traffic).

  • ELSA!!!!! omg my boys are going to FREAK! ;-)
    thanks for the info!
  • I'm so glad that there is a ride all day pass this year, in years past, we were spending about as much as it would cost to go to Kennywood!

We usually park in the Holiday Inn parking lot (or Siesta Inn, or whatever the heck it is called now) and take the little path through the back entrance of the festival.  It is very easy to get in and out of that way!

  • Meghan - I believe if you stop by the church now, you can get it discount all day ticket for $18 or strip of 6 tickets for $10 and its 1 ticket per ride vs the ones they sell at the festival.  Those are crazy $$.  Also I think Weds is $2.00 off ticket

  • Wow, that is an impressive festival! Are the rides/games appropriate for a kid G's age (3)?

  • Ryan, definitely if G is a rider. Logan (mr. Ride snob) would only ride in Disney, so he would just watch the rides, but my nephew was a champ and rode everything. Logan rode some rides at a festival earlier this summer, so I have hope for this year.

Oh, and if anyone comes, don't bother trying to win the table of booze. That's allll mine. Lol!

Game on, my friend.  GAME. ON.
  • Yes!  Rides came in last night so I haven't seen them yet but every year there have been kiddie rides like you would find at kiddie land - cars that go around in circle, merry go round, ferris wheel (which he can prob ride with adult).  I believe there will be more than in the past b/c we have a new ride vendor.   Depending on how many tickets each ride is an all night pass may still be worth it.

    Pray for no rain!

Oh and if you come, spend your money on the SSS food booth & the games along the side that are St Sebastian games not the vendor ones in the middle (they are more $$). :)  We have fun prizes this year (MINIONS!), webkinz and selfie sticks for tween set.
