Party food- inexpensive sliders/sandwiches

Getting ready for 2 year old's birthday party! I'd like to do sandwiches of some type.  anyone know who has the best prices? Giant eagle and kuhns have little baby sliders for about $1 each. probably can't get much cheaper than that...

Re: Party food- inexpensive sliders/sandwiches

  • Unless you make them yourself, I don't think you will get much cheaper than that. Lunch meat is expensive.

  • These are make yourself, but you make them the night before and just bake them.  They're so easy and good.

  • wowza that looks delicious!  i might have to give this a test run!!! might do swiss on 1/2 and chedder on 1/2 as my kiddo might not even attempt it if the cheese isn't the right color!!! thanks!
  • I've done it with swiss, cheddar and American.  All are equally delicious.

I've made them too with Swiss and american. I'm not a huge fan of Swiss myself. They are yummy!

  • I also like making the grape jelly meatballs as sliders for parties :) Frozen meatballs, chili sauce and grape jelly in the crock pot (depending on your recipe - you might combine the sauce in a pan on the stove first). Serve on hawaiian sweet rolls (I get these in big packs at sam's club for cheap).  Easy, delicious and very reasonable!
  • the meatballs are a great idea too. we usually do meatballs with pasta sauce in a crock pot but i wanted to do something a little different this year.

i tried the recipe for the ham sandwiches last night. it was easy and delicious! i think we are going to have like 30 guests so i'm thinking about 2 sandwiches each so i need to make ~60 of them....
but i think its do-able. not sure if it is cheaper than giant eag or kuhns but i'm sure they taste better!
