Skin stuff...acne? Rosacea?

I have spent years dealing with acne particularly cystic difficult spots. But Bcp and clarisonic have helped immensely. Now I rarely get pimples/cystic spots.

Lately however I have noticed my cheeks look bad! It's like a fine covering of bumps and reddish.

I have never had acne like this as mine were always actual bigzits. These ones now however never get bigger, need popped, etc. I'm not sure if that's still acne? I was looking at Rosacea and wondering if that's possible. I thought it was just redness but sounds like bumps are a part of it too.

Any thoughts? Deal with something similar? Ugh! I feel like I will always have skin issues. Years of acne and finally some freedom from it and now this. Soon it will be downward spiral into wrinkles.

Hers a pic. I have foundation on so its covering it some so you can't really see redness but can see the bumps.

I do have a derm appt soon just curious if anybody else has any ideas beforehand

I had something similar looking but less red.  It was on my arms, was less red, and was itchy.  I thought it was a rash.  By the time I got to the Dr. it was better looking.  He thought it was dry skin and not a rash.  It is almost gone now (after 3-4 weeks) but I have been doing extra moisturizing.

You didn't mention itchy so probably not a rash but mine looked similar so I figured I would mention it.

Hopefully the Dr. helps figure it out.

I did wonder if it was rash/allergic type reaction. It really isn't itchy. I did have something similar once on my forehead when I switched shampoos to a particular kind. When I stopped it went away. That was years ago but this reminds me of it...but I don't know what it could be that is causing it on both cheek areas and nowhere else. The forehead and new shampoo had been an easy correlation

  • Here's a picture without makeup showing the redness a little better
