Hi Everyone,
My Husband and I are looking to relocate from New York to North Carolina. I am looking for any helpful advice for the best areas for home life as well as for work. I am a secretary and he runs a Security Business here. Any advice or tips would be truly helpful to us. I thank you in advance for all of your help and look forward to hearing from you :)

Re: Relocating from New York

  • My husband and I live moved to Charlotte, NC about three years ago and we love it. It is in a nice location between North and South Carolina with the beach 3 hours to the East and the Mountains 3 hours to the West. Gas and taxes are cheaper in South Carolina so it is nice to be so close for shopping. The job market out here is always in demand and the cost of living is reasonable. There are several neighborhoods in Charlotte, each catering to different life styles. If you are looking for more of a hipster feel you check out Noda, for more of an upscale hipster vibe Plaza Midwood is good. If you are looking for more of a family oriented, young professionals, Ballantyne, South Matthews, South Charlotte (anywhere south of Hwy 51/ Pineville-Matthews Rd). If you are looking for family oriented with older professionals check out South Park, Cotswold and Dilworth. Charlotte has a lot to offer families and professionals. Good luck with your move.
