Painting Kitchen Cabinets

We are wanting to paint our kitchen cabinets, we have it narrowed down to grey or sage. My question is what Brand paint do you use on Cabinets? I have been googling it for days and I have looked into Milk Paint and Chalk Paint. I just want a paint that will have no streaks when I brush paint it.
Any tips or advice would help. This is our first reno on our house and we have been here 5 years.

Re: Painting Kitchen Cabinets

  • Most of the time streaks are the result of poor (or nonexistent) prep work and a cheap paint.  If you have oak cabinets no amount of paint will cover up the wood grain, so if that is why you want to paint them I wouldn't bother.  If you just want to change the color then go ahead.  Go to a home improvement store or a paint store and ask what type of paint to use.
