  • It's been a long day. I got home about an hour ago. Had an inservice on technology... that I already knew how to use. Still have some cleaning and crafting and sewing to do before I can go to bed.

This made me laugh so much though!

  • Aww I hope E woke in a better mood. And I hope you feel better Mark. Today was a good day here. Compared to yesterday. I was cleaning and doing laundry yesterday and found a leak in our basement ceiling. A repairman from our home warranty came out but it wasn't covered by the warranty. It's a crappy type of pipe that was used like crazy in the 80s. It's now know for being crappy, wearing out and leaking. It's fixed but we had to pay for it and also need to fix the hole they had to cut in the drywall.

So yeah today was better. Lily took a nap. I got to sew.

  • I checked the board throughout the day and missed this. We're doing well. I took a bike ride in feels like temps of 100 to the library. It was nice to get out of the house. I can't wait for the temps to cool off though.

Sounds like that old poly-pipe.  A house across the street had it for their apolo heating system and it burst while they were on vacation and flooded the house. :(

Still feeling crappy.  Drug myself into work.  Shoulda stayed home. :(

    Joy has it now too.

  • My Tuesday was pretty good. DH went back to work so I had to take on the kids alone. It was a success! I even got brave and took them to an indoor play place that we frequent. When we got home by some miracle both kids napped at the same time. It was amazing. LOL

Hopefully today will be just as good.

  • Mark - yes its polybutylene or something like that. The previous owners replaced everything that was easily accessible with copper. At this point we would have to cut into our walls and floors to replace the rest. This isn't our forever home so we don't want to do that. It was a small leak and had minimal damage (compared to what it could have been). At this point I'm just hoping we have no more leaks while we live here. We will sell and buy a house once I go back to work.

I didn't.  I tore in 3 separate places so I have stitches.  Because she came out sunny side up, my dr thinks that she used her tiny razor sharp nails and scratched me the whole way down.  So that is awesome. Everything itches severly.

When I originally looked into it, I was told their was the 1st gen piping and the 2nd gen piping (which I had).  The 1st gen was utter and complete crap.  I eventually replaced the apollo system with a standard heat pump and hot water heater for other reasons, but it made me feel a lot better.

  • I got an infection in my incision and it slowed the entire healing process down. I hope you get back to your old self soon.

I wonder which we have. We just had our hot water heater replaced in July. Ours was a pinhole leak. Our plumber told Paul that usually these pipes have small leaks not big ones when Paul asked about it. The plumber said it just slowly wears out in places. The pipe that had the leak went to either our sink or our dishwasher.

  • Honestly, I'm not sure how to tell the difference.  Just remember being told that when I had somebody looking at the system.
