What do you guys think about this server scandal going on with Hillary?  I've only been following it briefly.  Do you think that it won't even affect her campaign, will she drop out, or be given a pass and still be the D nominee?

Re: Hillary Server Scandal

  • Snowden publically exposed government info to our enemies and he is wanted for treason. Clinton inadvertently exposed government info to our enemies (or, whomever was accessing her unsecured servers) and she is wanted for president???

    Answer that doozy for me!

This is serious business. Not only was she unsecured, but lots of emails have been deleted. She isn't above the law and in the least she isn't above review for this issue.

She was in the room for the attack on Bin Laden. You cannot for one second tell me that she doesn't understand secure lines, need to know information, security clearances, and that technology is in place to keep USA data and people safe. Her very presence in that room during that Special Ops raid, means that she is IN on all that security data and understanding. Therefore, a reasonable conclusion is that Clinton ought to have had the knowledge to know that doing USA business on an unsecure server was dangerous and a violation of confidentially and security.

If you work for a secret, or secure company or organization that deals with private data a lot, then one of the first things you know is how to keep your data safe. It's pretty basic.

The fact that she doesn't just submit to review makes her look all the worse and guilty.

But, this issue aside, I don't like her as a person or a candidate and I would hate the wife of Monica's ex-boyfriend as the POTUS.

  • Personally, I think her campaign's going to die from this and other scandals.  Too much baggage.

  • I do agree with you guys and DH is for sure thinks she will drop out but I just think that she will get a small slap on the wrist and keep on going.  Just seems like this has been going on forever.

My DH and I are mirrors of you two!  My DH, who is a computer nerd extraordinaire for a living including having worked as a contractor for the military, thinks this issue is going to destroy her campaign and that she will actually pull herself from the race.

But I don't think that at all.  I'm not saying her abhorrent and shocking lack of security is okay and NBD, but I think the general public is just not going to grasp the true seriousness of this.  Quite frankly, if I hadn't previously worked for a defense contractor and held a secret clearance, I don't know that I would have either.

  • Folks, it's going to be Biden.  For reals.  Hilary is going to go down slowly and painfully and the Democratic party looks pretty scared of giving her the nomination at this point.  Sanders sure seems like the favorite, but I think at the end of the day, they will back off from the self-proclaimed Socialist.  Biden is my prediction for the nominee and I wouldn't be surprised if Warren was the VP.  It'd be their best ticket.

exactly!  Besides its not on any local news coverage.  All you ever hear about on the news is Trump.

This is exactly what DH is saying, but I just can't picture Biden as Pres.  It will be all jokes ya know. I guess he says he could be a replacement for 4 years until they can find another D.

My vision of him is the guy who puts his foot in his mouth, but I remember his last VP debate, and he was on his game.  He apparently has it in him.  We'll see.
  • I won't vote Democrats no matter who the nominee is. I predict it will be Biden. Can't stand Hillary or Elizabeth Warren.
  • I just don't trust hillary so that's why I wouldn't vote for her.  Not saying I would never vote D - I would vote for someone that I really believed in no matter which party side they were on but I'm not feeling any of the D's lately.

  • I wouldn't vote for a Democrat, regardless, but I wish both of the Clintons would just GO AWAY. I voted for Old Bill twice. The 90s were awesome, but it had absolutely zero to do with either of them.  It was a false reality, bolstered by the internet and housing bubbles.  The Clintons represent a pre-9/11 time that we can never return to. I really don't see her getting elected. Nostalgia for the 90s is the province of people who were entering the job market of the 90s.  The "millennials" seem like they are smarter, savvier, and way more cynical than their parents.  I just don't see them voting for someone who is trying to come off as tech illiterate.  What a sham.  She might fool the 40 to 60 year olds with that, but I've got to believe that younger people find that pretty lame and unbelievable.

I can't believe I am saying this, but I think I might be Team Donald .... ?!!?!  It would be so nice to have a president who didn't give a rat's butt about the press, who just said what he (and most of the rest of us) think and let those chips fall where they may.  I don't think he's mean, I just think he is very direct.  How refreshing would it be to have someone give the State of the Union with NO PATRONIZING of any special interest group? Someone who is willing to point out the warts in himself and all of us, too? Someone who is potentially willing, for example, to point out that blaming teachers for how kids are is preposterous when it is really their parents who suck? This country is not going to survive unless someone finally stands up and points out that the Emperor has no clothes.

Whether he is the nominee or not, if he pushes the other candidates toward a more honest and forthright position, he's done a service to the party and the country.  Just my two cents.

I understand what you are saying about trump.  A couple days ago I watched the press interview where he got that reporter kicked out.  He does handle himself really well.

I too like that he doesn't give a rip about the press. But, Carson doesn't either - except he is a lot more diplomatic and polished. Carson doesn't bow to PC. But he has class and tact. Those are two character traits which Trump lacks and the POTUS needs.

  • Trump has no respect for women except for how they look. He would be a horrible diplomat. Can you imagine him sitting down with Angela Merkel? She'd probably kick him in the shins and walk out. I know I would. Trump can't handle not getting his way and it is not like he can tell all of Congress You're Fired. I entered the job market in 1995. It was not all rainbows and unicorns. It wasn't until the late 90's that things started booming. Millenials are not my kids. They are about 10 years younger than me. They have nostalgia for the 90's because that was their childhood. People who want a woman president want Hilary. I don't think she is a good choice.

Yes! Yes! Yes! I love him and Ben Carson best. I believe they will make positive changes.

Anybody who votes for someone under the motivation of their gender or race and makes that a deciding factor in their vote, is just on crack. Not saying you are! Just saying that people who say, "Well, we need a woman president" are off their rockers.

We need the best person for the job regardless of their race or gender.
