Help with walldesign in hallway please!

Hi everybody,
we're currently redesigning the new flat we just bought. The flat is freshly renovated and just lovely. We're planning on giving it quite a classic but sophisticated style but we're lacking ideas on what to do with the walls in the hallway. It's a little bit darker and narrower than the other rooms which are quite open and bright. We just don't know what color or design to use there. We've used a lot of old dark wood furniture. Should be something that people will like instantly and make a lasting impression...
Maybe someone here has an idea? Give us anything please! ;)

Re: Help with walldesign in hallway please!

  • It's very hard to come up with ideas without seeing the room and the other design features in your flat. Maybe you could upload some pictures of the hallway? We've got a wallpaper design from www.wallcover.com in our bedroom. Probably not as fancy as I imagine yours should be but they've got a whole range of luxury designs too. They're definitely something that makes an impression. More so than the standard wallpaper designs you get. Just make sure you get a good adhesive too not that cheap stuff that bubbles and doesn't make your wallpaper stick! But apart from that the wallcover is also quite easy to apply and it's just gorgeous. If you'd like, I can send you some pictures of our bedroom wall. We applied it ourselves without any hassle. We're also thinking about getting another design from the kids section for the new member of our family ;)
  • If it's dark, I'd paint it a light color, but otherwise, we can't help unless we see it.
  • Have you thought about doing board and batten? (or faux board and batten) Painted white it could brighten up the space and go with what sounds like your more traditional decor in the rest of the house.
  • Maybe you could check out some high-end mirrors?
