rained out - vent

This is mainly just a vent. My husband and I take one vacation a year and only for 3 days in sept/oct because its cheap and we're broke. This year its also my son's first beach trip. Unless ofcourse theres a tropical storm - in which case he will be lucky to even step foot on the beach. Every forecast shows and 80% chance of rain starting the minute we arive and stopping the minute we leave. literally. you just gotta lauch at the irony. We paid 350 for this hotel months ago on a groupon deal. too late to cancel or change the dates. maybe i could beg the hotel - but when i called they told me to talk to groupon, and groupon told me to contact them. we're spending 150 on pet hotel and 100 on dog grooming while we are gone and God knows how much while we are there on food and to keep us semi entertained since we can't be on the beach.... Then i'm sure we'll end up making a day trip back to the beach a few weeks later.... oh yea and we spent 150 on a beach umbrella and supplies that we mine as well leave home. It would be cheaper to just throw out the 350 and stay home... but if we did you know it would be sunny.

Re: rained out - vent

  • :( I'm sorry that really sucks. Hopefully even if it is raining there will be other stuff you can find to do instead nearby and cheap. Sounds like you have a pretty nice hotel, maybe they will even have fun stuff going on.
Try not to let the weather ruin you weekend.

  • If it is just raining and not thundering and lightning, just go to the beach. I love swimming in the rain. Plus the beach won't be crowded. And what kid doesn't love playing in the rain.
