Weekend Reading

What did you start, finish, make progress on, or neglect?  Did you do anything fun?

Re: Weekend Reading

  • I've started Go Set a Watchman. I'm about 35% through so far. It's ok but not especially gripping.

We had trunk or treat on Saturday that was pretty much a bust, and we went to see Opera Roanoke's production of Sweeney Todd on Friday. It was pretty good but there were several actors that were not strong enough vocally for their parts. The guys who played Sweeney and Judge Turpin were fabulous, though.

  • I finished listening to Career of Evil by Robert Galbraith. I enjoyed it as usual. I also finished Destiny's Song by Audrey Faye. It was fun.

    My favorite Cake Wreck ever.

  • I finished Six of Crows and the second Morganville Vampire book.

We just did trick or treating Saturday.  I worked yesterday so nothing fun then.

  • I didn't read at all.  We were so busy and I was exhausted when I was home.

Friday dh & I had date night with friends.  Saturday shopping, trick or treating then a Halloween party.  Sunday took my dd to see Mama Mia with friends then went to dinner.  Great weekend, hate daylight savings!!

Jessica, Married to Brian 12/27/03, Mom to Alex 6/27/94, Devin 10/29/04, and Emily 1/15/07
  • After reading the same 4 books for the last three weeks, I finally finished 3 of them this past week, so I feel all accomplished.

We had friends and family over and took the kids trick-or-treating and had tacos on Saturday and hit the after-Halloween sales at Michael's and Wal-mart on Sunday.

How was Night of the Gun?  That one looked interesting.
  • I made good progress on "Down the Rabbit Hole", sadly still just at 50% with less than a week before it's due back, I'll get there.

Busy weekend but H and I finally had dinner at a resturant together and listened to a good band. Overall it was fun.

I struggled with it.  I knew what it was about before reading it but I felt like it glorified addiction.  I'm not sure what I expected but I didn't get it.

This is about all I read of it before returning it. I figured I got the gist of it. I just couldn't do the writing style.

Over the weekend I read nothing. We had so much fun though with trick or treating and hanging out with family.
