Republican Debate 11-10

Thoughts?

I get confused the more I hear the candidates speak. I like most of the Republican candidates. Still TOO many! I can't wait to know who the nominee and vp nominee will be.

Re: Republican Debate 11-10

  • Didn't watch it. At this point, I really don't think any of them except the govenors (Bush, Christie, Kasich. Not Jindal) have a chance to win the Presidency. In order to win, the Republican candidate can not go too far right. The key to winning is peeling off the moderate Democrats who don't like Hilary. While I like Bernie Saunders, he has no chance of winning the general election
  • Much, much better debate than the last one.  I think they got a little too into micro details that most people found boring, but the moderators were good and we really got to hear policy.

Thanks!  That was my big laugh for the morning.  Kudos you even know who he is.  Alas, he is the governor of my state.  And, despite the fact that Louisiana is as red as a ruby, he has one of the lowest governor approval ratings in the country.  It's quite an accomplishment that most of his constituents agree with his policies, yet still hate him, lol.

The thought down here is he is trying to angle himself for a cabinet or lobbying position and that is the only reason he is still in the race.  But he's a meglo-egomaniac (sp?), so who knows.

Ok, I have more time now.  Happy Hour debate, Jindal was the HUGE loser!  Holy shit batman!  I wanted to punch him.  He was so annoying!  Christie demolished the rest of them.  I think he will earn his way back onto the big boy stage.

I was in the focus group last night on Fox News (I'm a star! JK!) and we all agreed Rubio and Cruz were the big winners.  Rubio is looking super presidential to me these days.  Kasich... lowest comment score in Luntz focus group history.  At one point we all looked at each other and we all had our dials at 0 (the lowest).  After that, we groaned every time he talked.  He is just so damn irritating.  He tries so hard to be the adult on the stage, but he's got a terrible attitude about it.  His comment about picking and choosing who would keep their own money when he bails out banks... he completely lost me.

Paul was the same.  He's also a little grating, personality-wise, but I always agree with his fiscal views.  Fiorina was fine, but her zero budget?  Unrealistic to the max.  Trump and Carson were quiet and I can't remember a single thing they said.  Bush was better than last time, but I'm afraid that Americans aren't looking for his brand of old-fashioned politics this time around.  That's why Trump and Sanders are doing so well.  Bush is just too establishment (and then there's his name...)

I know someone who works for the Clinton campaign and they are gearing up to fight Rubio- that's who they think will be the winner.  They're making anti-Rubio ads already because apparently, she's super scared of him.

Yeah I totally didn't get the Kaish comment - it didn't even make sense.  Also Clinton being scared for Rubio?  she doesn't strike me as a personal that would be scared of anyone.

Well I don't mean "shaking in your boots" type of scared, just scared as in she feels he is her strongest competition and is feeling the heat so she's gearing up.

I see why she's afraid of him. If Carson or Trump are the GOP candidate, Clinton will win by a landslide. Every single Republican who is not an extreme right-right conservative will vote for her rather than have the shit-show that Carson or Trump would cause. But, Rubio...Rubio is a minority so he has a lot of those voters that Clinton was banking on and he will get every single Republican vote, extreme or not, plus a lot of Democrats who don't trust Clinton. The way I see it, Clinton is not a very good Democratic candidate. She has a very messy political background and she's been shown to not be the most trustworthy. If she wins, it will be because the Republican party is incapable of choosing a decent candidate.
