NBR: Spurgeon

I don't usually comment on things like this. Jessa has always been my favorite, and I think she and her husband are an adorable couple. They seem like they will be caring, devoted parents.

But..... Spurgeon?!  *smh*

I hope they call him Elliot, not Spurgie or Spurg or somesuch.

Re: NBR: Spurgeon

  • I saw the title of this post and immediately thought of "venomous spooge."

But wow, they really named their kid that.  How terribly unfortunate for that kid.
  • Well I AM looking for a boy name...

  • I like Spurgeon as a writer, but how about Charles?  Equally his name and not easily confused with a fish.

  • Seems fishy (Get it? Get it?!) I like this definition best: And according to Urban Dictionary, Spurgeon is named after a rude man with oversized genitals

    Derp.

  • I read an article that said they are going to call him Quincy because that was his nickname in utero.  It's way better than Spurgeon.

Then why even bother with the messed up name, if they're never going to call him that?  Poor kid.  I feel like they did it for publicity.
