New Years Resolutions

Too soon for New Years Resolutions?  I think not :-)

1. Eat Paleo - I started doing this a few weeks ago, and it has really helped calm some of my digestive issues.  And for the first time in forever, I've actually been able to lose weight!  Halloween was a bit of a failure, but now that I'm back into it the weight is coming off again.

2. Organize my digital photos - and (gasp) - actually print some - I have thousands of digital photos on my computer but the overall structure is kind of messy.  It didn't help when we got ransomware on our computer - luckily I had all the photos backed up online with Google Photos, but I just imported them back in as fast as possible ignoring their existing file structure issues.

3. Travel more - Since the kids have been little  and one summer was spent moving into and with outdoor work at our house, we haven't really done much in the way of vacations.  We've done some small trips and did do one big trip to Disney.  Next year DH and I have a trip planned for ourselves for our 10 year anniversary.  Next year I'd like to either do Disney again or do a beach vacation.

4.  Finish my Master's degree - after this semester, only 3 classes left!

Re: New Years Resolutions

  • Congrats on being so close to finishing your masters!   Good for you!   That's something that I think about sometimes, since I work at a university I can get my masters tuition free.  (Although we have to pay taxes on the cost, so it's still a significant amount of money that I'll have to really, really think if this is what I want to do).

I haven't really thought much about this yet, but I want to continue with Weight Watchers and hopefully get to my goal weight next year.

Get the house more organized.  We have done a lot this year and gotten rid of a lot of stuff.  But I still feel like we have WAY too much stuff.

And a silly/fun one is that my hip hop instructor at my gym has people in the class come up on stage with him sometimes.   I want to work up the nerve to do it.   It's taken me a long time to not hide in the back corner of the class - I stand in the 2nd row now!  So I want to try to work up to this.   But, the thought of everyone's eyes on me kind of makes me want to throw up.   And if I do it and throw up, I'll have to quit my gym.
  • H taught me how to play chess on our honeymoon and I haven't played since.  I am getting a chess set for Christmas and my 2016 resolution will be to play and learn the game.

H and I also want to go out to breakfast more.  When we do go out to breakfast now it always seems special and relaxing.  It will be nice to have that feeling more often and to try some new places.

2015 has seen some cleaning up and organization.  I definitely want to continue down that path for 2016.
  • You go ladies! All great stuff.
I have got to lose this weight. I managed to get a group together for the marathon relay on May 1 and need to start training. I know that will help me feel better too.
I am with the rest of you about getting rid of stuff. Purge purge!!!
