I'm pretty sure my son as allergies. we recently moved out of the city to an area where there are more trees and grass and i think it is effecting him. he went a few weeks with red eyes. we tried Claritin for a week and it didn't work. then some eye drop Zaditor- it didn't work. so then we just used visine and that seemed to work. it was not viral and it was not pink eye. then it suddenly went away and now he does this constant sniffing with a little cough. i had him in for his well visit a month ago and at that time he and his brother did have a little cold but that sniffing and coughing started a week prior. so i mentioned it and the doc just said it could be a virus, takes a while to go away, etc. i said maybe allergies? he said maybe. you could try some different things. there was no wheeze or problems breathing. so here we are a month later and this is still going on. i am starting claritin again since we have it and wondering if it will help to treat this even though didn't help his red eyes. we are on day 2 and its not working. from what i'm reading online it sounds like trying a few different ones may be necessary to see what works for him so i think i should do this before wasting $ going to the doc for him to say that again. of course i'm open to seeing an allergist but i guess i'm assuming i should try these methods and see if they work so we can see if that is necessary.
just wondering if anyone else has been through something similar and how it was resolved.
