You Need to Rethink Trump

To whomever is on this board who wants to vote for him in a primary election...

He has been endorsed by both a former high-up KKK leader as well as a neo-Nazi group. This is seriously messed up. These are folks that call themselves "Christians," but won't accept the fact that Jesus was Jewish and therefore are willing to subvert Christ's entire identity for their own perverted purposes. They aren't Christians by the way.

Re: You Need to Rethink Trump

  • And, there are WAAAY better offerings in the RNC race right now. Fiorina, Carson, Cruz and Rubio.
  • The excutive at CBS already said that Trump is making them tons of money so the media does not want him to go away yet. Accordig to my Facebook trending list (I only say this because I don't know how accurate this is) the majority of Americans disagree with Trump's plan to ban Muslims, but Trump still leads in the polls among Republicans. That does not speak well for Republicans.

See this is the stigma I'm afraid of.  I want to hold a sign over my head that says "I'm a Republican and I don't agree with Trump!"

Do you really think that media is glossing over Trump because he's making them money???
  • Yes. The election is almost a YEAR away. And yet it is dominating the news. They aren't glossing over Trump. They are reporting it in excuriating detail. And on avergae night, you hear nothing about Hilary. But I don't think that is a bad thing.

I think you may be on to something.

We all have those FB "friends" who know us loosely. And really, who cares what they think? But, for your immediate friends and family, they probably are smart enough to realize and know your good sense well enough that one wacko candidate does not account for the whole lot of the full RNC roster.

Trump also leads with the middle class. I just read an article on this this morning, but I cannot recall where. Perhaps that will return to me. Anyway, since the MC is still the largest percentage of Americans, it's going to ALSO cover the highest Facebook and Twitter numbers too.

Also, folks are JUST REALLY FED UP with the crap of the last 8 years. And whether you like the ACA or not, this Administration has been one of the most divisive with pitting the poor versus rich and black versus white. To say that does not remove the real concerns between these demographics, it just points out that Obama has not been a healing factor for many citizens when dealing with these issues. Another thing is the lack of a reality check Obama seems to have about the harsh reality of ISIS and others like ISIS. We can blame the past POTUS all we want. Obama has had 8 years in office to stand on his own two legs and it's no longer W's fault for failed foreign policy (re: ISIS and Benghazi and Israel, and Iran).

I dislike Trump, but I can see why the pendulum has swung SO FAR in Trump's direction. People are yearning for a POTUS with balls. And whether we like it or not, it does seem like Trump has them (right or wrong).

Another point to consider is that we don't know actual financial stats about how Trump is doing. He is self-funded. So he doesn't have that gauge of a "fan base" monetarily speaking. Polling numbers actually will mean very little come voting time. How many Facebook people "like" Trump but are actually registered to vote? So maybe he has a lot of "likes" - nearly 5M actually, but that means little. A 13 year old can have a FB. A 13-year-old isn't registered to vote. Lastly, recent church (in general, no denomination in particular) statistics, only about 35% of active church-going folks are registered to vote. That number SHOCKS me. But I'm quite sure a lot of people have "liked" Trump but are really just lazy citizens and won't register or won't go outside to the polls because "it's too cold," or "Oh, was that today?"

  • He's not self funded.  His public campaign financial records show the majority of his funding is from donors.  I don't really give a shit, but it pisses me off that he's lying about it.

Most of his Facebook "fans" are shell accounts, btw.

Really, I didn't know that! Well, it makes me like him even less.
  • Yup, google "donald trump campaign funding" and you'll get his third quarter report that shows he raised just about 4 million and has only put up less than 2 million of his own money since he started running.  I honestly don't care that he's accepting donations, just don't lie. He's got a freakin donation page on his website for crying out loud.  He's also met with Super PAC leaders several times.
  • So apparently Trump can't threaten us with a third party run forever.  I don't know why I didn't think about it, but there is a time limit.  March is pretty much the cut off.  So we only have 2-3 months more of this shit: http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-carson-have-until-spring-to-launch-third-party-runs/ar-BBnsQEx?li=BBnbcA1

wake me up when its over - lol

  • Ugh, I saw my FIL today and he's a Democrat who completely agrees with Trump.  He's doesn't think that Trump is the best Republican choice (he agrees Rubio is), but he thinks Trump has at least, "identified the problem" and that yes, Muslims are dangerous.  But he's Hindu and Muslims and Hindus have a very long history of hating each other.  I shut him up by saying that I come from a cultural group that has been banned from many countries throughout history for being "dangerous".
  • OH Here's a good one! Trump called Cruz a "maniac" and said he doesn't have the right "temperament" to be president! I mean, I'm not a Cruz fan, but isn't that the pot calling the kettle black?

LOL at Trump. I think Cruz is a ton more measured and level headed than Trump. It takes one heck of a level-headed person to win the court battles Cruz has won. Looks like Cruz is poised to win Iowa.

The candidate debate stage is set by CNN for the 15th. We once again have to deal with 9 people on stage. Sheesh.

I read the article title online and didn't even read the article.  so stupid.

I have a FB friend who believes Trump is being paid by the clintons to ensure and Hilary win.

I read that too! He said something about having a "strong temperament" himself...I've never seen a Presidential candidate with a weaker temperament. He's flying off the handle at the one candidate who has only criticized him in secret. I wonder who he would pick as a VP. I don't think any of the candidates would even touch a VP ticket with him.

I'm so done with Paul and Kasich.  They could go and I wouldn't miss them.  Christie is back, but Huckabee is at the kid's table.  I won't miss Huckabee either.  Christie is doing surprising well here in NH- number 2 or 3 in several polls and got the major newspaper's endorsement here.

I really like Chris Christie!! I agree. There are wayyy too many candidates. I thought a few more would drop out by now!
  • ^ Hopefully after Iowa and NH, more will drop out. I still don't understand why some of them are in it. Huckabee, Kasich, Paul, Santorum, etc. have never done well enough to even dream of winning the primaries. I can see why Bush and even Christie are in it. I don't think either of them have an actual chance still.
  • A NH campaign is dirt cheap to run so there is no reason for anyone to drop out.  Literally all they need is a tank of gas.  The guys with no budget stay with supporters at their houses and just run themselves around the state doing town halls.  Then they see how things pan out at the election.  If they do well, they'll get more donor money to continuing running, if not, they drop out.
  • (Hanging head in shame), I just noticed from your links the former KKK leader endorsing him is David Duke from my current home state of Louisiana.  Why must so many embarrassing politicians come from my land, lol?

Bobby Jindal (Former GOP "kiddie table" candidate, current lame duck governor with one of the lowest approval ratings ever)

David Duke (former KKK leader, member of Louisiana House of Representatives just once in the early 90s, has unsuccessfully run for every other political office known to man, including Pres.)  Oh, and he's a felon for campaign funding fraud.

David Vitter (Senator, recently ran for governor, but most famous nationally for getting caught in the D.C. Madam scandal a few years ago)

Edwin Edwards (former governor) and Ray Nagin (former mayor of NOLA) both sent to prison for corruption charges, with Ray-Ray still in the pokey.
