Anyone watching debate tonight?

What time and channel is it on?  DH is working a holiday party tonight so its just DD and me.  I have a feeling she won't want to watch it.

Alas, I don't know.  While I enjoy reading up and posting on these boards, that is about the extent of my political involvement until the herd thins and I can actually focus on just the folks going to the primaries.

I'm assuming your DD is a little one and would concur that she would find it awful.  Unless she's really, really little.  Than she might be amused by the bright color and lights coupled with the endlessly droning voices background.

Haha at myself.  Apparently I didn't notice the sig line you always have :).  Yeah, 4-years-old is definitely in the "this is the most boring thing I've ever seen, where is My Little Ponies?" camp.

  • It's on CNN. I think the first kiddie debate is at 6pm EST. But you'll have to verify that. I'm watching. DS who is 5 1/2 is really into this for some reason. I'm annoyed there are 9 candidates going to be on stage.
  • CNN at 8:30 EST. Since I'm on the West Coast I have to rush home. I think this debate is extremely important and will absolutely have an impact (expect maybe for Trump supporters who will not listen to reason no matter what). The first 4 debates were too similar and too close together, but so much has happened since last debate! I think we are really in for a show tonight.
  • we don't have cable so I'm hoping it is free on CNN website like the past debates were.  I always skip the kiddie because whats the point.  I too am annoyed there are still so many candidates on stage.

  • I forgot to DVR it and I'm annoyed with myself.  I'm hoping DH gets home in time to record it for me.

Not sure where you are, but they are streaming it on the app. I'm at work watching the undercard one now-they've only talked about ISIS so far (40 minutes in). Even if he doesn't, there will be clips of everything important that is said.
  • I'm watching it now!  Hubby got home to DVR it for me :)  Also, they really didn't start until 9
  • We are watching tom and jerry. Guess I will have to watch the recaps later

It's giving me a headache honestly.  Basically they're all annoying me at this point lol.  So far the only people I agree with in regards to national security are Fiorina and Rubio (and Christie who is basically 100% aligned with Rubio... VP bid anyone?) and somewhat Cruz and Kasich.

The debates are usually posted in full on youtube if you want to see it in its entirety.
  • I'm sorry how did I miss when Trump said he would kill ISIS families??????  How did I not hear about this until tonight??????  OMG I. Just. Can't.

Oh...come on now!  That has been a very successful tactic employed by psychopathic dictators throughout our world's history.

A few of Trump's ideas in the last 6 months:

-he will find every last one of 11 million undocumented aliens and ship them back to their countries (or just to Mexico-he doesn't seem to understand they are from all over Central America).

-he will force (by asking nicely?) the non-government of Mexico to pay for a giant wall

-We shouldn't vote for women with ugly faces for President

-McCain was horrible, Bush was horrible, and the GOP establishment is horrible-is there anyone in Trump's party he agrees with?

-Only Veterans who were never Prisoners of War should be considered heroes

-Vaccines cause autism-this is, IMHO, the single most dangerous thing Trump has said. It shows he doesn't read or listen to scientific research.

-We should bar 1/4 of the world population (Muslims) from entering the U.S. strictly based on their religion

-The Internet has a magic "on/off" switch and we should shut parts of it off to defeat ISIS

-Killing terrorist's families will totally solve the problem.

  • nkjacobsma  That was amazing.  Thank you for that list!
