Consumer Reports Subscription?
Ours expired. And, low and behold - I'm pregnant and we need to buy a new infant car seat (the kind with a handle) since we got rid of our other one after DS grew out of it.
Is there anybody here with a current subscription who wouldn't mind telling me the top 3 or 4 brands and models for rear-facing infant car seats? Safety is my highest priority, then price.
All I am wondering is the brand names and models (no other details).
I went to the National Highway Safety place for car seat ratings for safety and it was not working. So I was not able to pull any ratings there.
Just figured I'd ask in case anybody is feeling charitable. We typically only do Consumer Reports when we know we'll have more than one purchase in the year that we will want to investigate.

The current infant seat offered by Maxi Cosi for sale in the U.S. In February 2011, some models of Maxi Cosi Mico and Safety 1st Onboard infant seats, as well as other car seat types and models manufactured between May 1, 2008 and April 30, 2009, were recalled by Dorel Juvenile Group and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, due to a potential for the harness adjustment strap to loosen during use. Just wanted to chime in to say congrats! I know nothing about car seats, so I'm no help, but that's very exciting news!
Amazon returns probably hated me with DD's convertible seats. I ordered 4, tried them all out, and sent back the ones that didn't work.
