Bloomberg considering running for President as an Independent

Would you vote for him?  I disagree with many things he did as mayor, but I agree with a lot of things he did as well.  I think he'd make a fairly good choice.  Certainly better than a lot of the front runners now.

Re: Bloomberg considering running for President as an Independent

  • I'd have to learn a lot more. I know nothing about him. But, I'd welcome anybody other than The Criminal.
  • I'd vote for him. Especially if it Trump or Cruz vs Hillary
  • No. He is anti 2nd amendment.
  • No. He is anti 2nd amendment.
Those might our only options.  Trump was never super strong on 2nd amendment support until he started running.

On a slightly different note, I wanted to share this in case you haven't seen it: http://www.nationalreview.com/article/430126/donald-trump-conservatives-oppose-nomination

Most candidates change their mind on issues over time. I don't want my rights taken away.

Over time is one thing... having the same opinions your entire life and then flipping every single position the moment you run for office is another.

You know Trumps star issue- Immigration?  In 2012, he publicly berated Romney for being too "harsh on immigration".  He's a liberal through and through and mark my words, the moment he gets the nomination, we won't be able to tell his policies apart from the Dem.
  • I am pretty staunchly pro-gun control. But if a politician tried to take people's guns (pistols, shotguns, rifles) away, I would be protesting right along side you. Most people I know are okay with people having guns. They just don't like the assault weapons or the huge magazines.

Except Bloomberg has decimated gun owners' rights of most kinds in NYC. And it's nearly impossible to get a conceal carry permit.
  • And I am fine with that. I hate the idea of concealed carry in crowded urban environments. I sincerely doubt he would be able to or even try that nationwide. If gun control is your issue, don't vote for him.
