Weekend reading, snowzilla edition

What did you finish/ignore/make progress on during this snowbound weekend?

What were your area snow totals (for those to whom this question applies)? Did you do anything fun this past weekend?

Re: Weekend reading, snowzilla edition

  • I finished my reread of Dragonfly in Amber, and I started Mindy Kaling's new memoir, plus my audio book of Bazaar of Bad Dreams came in today so I'll start that on my way home from work.

We pretty much vegged all weekend. Read, played with the kitties, cleaned a bit, watched copious amounts of Buffy, saw the horrible Hulk movie from 2003 and some godawful movie last night with a bunch of really talented British actors (and Mandy Patinkin) but the movie was dull as dishwater. Today was the first day I was able to leave my house, and that's in large part thanks to our neighbor with a plow. The museum was on a 2 hour delay, so I didn't have to leave my house while it was still frozen outside.

  • Finished Cream Puff Murder by Joanne Fluke.  Neglected Letters to the Lost by Iona Grey.  The book has an average rating of 4.18 on Goodreads but it's painful for me to get through.

No snow here.  We took DD to Disney on Ice on Saturday and vegged for the rest of the weekend.

  • I finished Vengeance in Death by JD Robb and started Walk on Earth a Stranger by Rae Carson.
No snow in Las Vegas. My mother and father in law both had some pretty bad health scares last week, so we are sort of recovering from that the best we can.

  • I got through some more of Station Eleven, which I'm really enjoying.

We got about 5 inches of snow starting Saturday afternoon and over by Sunday morning.  The timing was nice, because it didn't mess with our zoo class on Saturday morning, but it cancelled the birthday party we were supposed to go to Saturday afternoon, and we had a lovely day for playing in the snow on Sunday.

We also started watching Newsroom on Netflix, and I absolutely LOVE it.  Has anyone else watched it?
  • Finished Dark Witch for the monthly read. I'll hold my opinion since I don't think many have been able to read yet.

I live in MA and got NO SNOW! It's absolutely amazing and near 40 degrees today and going to be mid 40s tomorrow!

  • I started both Six of Crows and The Darkest Part of the Forest. I'm making more progress on The Darkest Part of the Forest.

We had about 18 inches of snow. On Saturday, I decluttered my kitchen and started on DS's playroom. On Sunday, we were able to get out and go sledding.  Our cousin works on buses for the school district and was able to bring home a school bus hood, which was hooked to a four-wheeler for sledding at my in-laws' farm. It was so fun. Super-rednecky, but so fun!

  • I finished the Monster Haven series by RL Naquin.

    My favorite Cake Wreck ever.

  • No snow here. The weather has been perfect in Texas! However, summer is coming so it's short lived.

I read HP book 5 for the billionth time. I'm in such a book slump.

  • I finished Four Seconds to Lose and started (and finished last night) Five Ways to Fall.  I really enjoyed them.

Didn't do much in the snow.  I think we got about 6 inches.
