Does the epoxy flooring last lifetime?

Hey people I was thinking to get the epoxy floor coating ( http://www.prosealfloors.com/
) done in my garage by hiring the floor contractors from Proseal Flooring in Mississauga. So I was wondering, how long does the epoxy flooring last? Does this flooring last lifetime.

Re: Does the epoxy flooring last lifetime?

  • From what I've read, epoxy floors can last for decades if they're installed correctly and maintained properly. It probably also depends on where you live. I would assume they would last longer in warmer climates like Mississippi than up north with snow/ice and associated salt and chemicals used on the roads. Don't think epoxy is a lifetime proposition, but it seems they'll can hold up for years.
  • One thing to watch with doing epoxy in the garage is the slickness of it. Make sure they add some sort of nonslip additive. A friend of mine did one of the DIY epoxy kits in her garage. Turned out great, but we live in Ohio and she discovered that the floor got slippery when it was wet like when rain drips off after returning from a trip or coming back & the car is snow covered. She also found the same issue with wet shoes (rain/snow)
